Couple problems here. Just because a private lender wasn’t willing to provide the loan doesn’t mean that the canadian government did so out of the kindness of their hearts. Canadian government was just the only player in a position where they could lose revenue (taxes in this case) as a result of GM going under. A 0%

If you’re even thinking about borrowing money to get a master’s degree, you need to sit down and think about ROI, map out the monthly payments post-grad, look at what the graduates of that school/program earn (if the school doesn’t provide this data, run the other way) and decide if “the juice is worth the squeeze.”

One more tip, stop pissing away your money on new cars and car loans.

“Good debt, like a mortgage or car loan, will typically help your credit score because it is secured by something tangible, while bad debt, like credit card debt, will harm your credit score because it is not.”

There’s a real lack of stop and think about numbers going around in the comments today.

Jesus people. It’s not about how much of damned refund you got. Before you spout off do this:
- Compare your 2017 and 2018 taxable income (mine increased a little over $5k. Only income last year was wages from my job).
- Compare the taxes you owed (mine decreased $1234 in 2018).
And I’m single man renter living in

Did your total tax paid actually go up or was it just that your withholding wasn’t “enough”?

People freaking out about not getting a refund, but if you look at your effective tax rate, good chance it’s lower than prior years. Of all the returns I have completed for 2018 so far, 95% have been at a lower effective tax rate than prior years.  That figure will change once people start receiving 1099s from their

You ignored warnings to check your withholding and you ended up not withholding enough money to cover your taxes. Stop blaming other people for your fuck up.

There were only 30k votes cast in the primary between her and Crowley compared to 110k votes that were ultimately cast for her alone in the general. (Crowley drew 9k votes in the general.)

I think Taxes had your number. You’re complaining about the change to the Federal Tax code that typically favors constituents not considered “conservative.” Local taxation rates should have nothing to do with the Federal Tax Code and should be removed as a deduction altogether.

You have misspelled “no, I was making it up and have nothing to back it up.

I put all the blame on users, all of it.

I put the majority of the blame on the users, mostly because as a whole, people don’t ask themselves “why is this free?”. Those same people are outraged now, but conveniently forget that one person that’s in every social group that tried to explain to them why they shouldn’t plaster their whole lives up on a “free”

Article writing is alive and well. Journalism is on the way out in favor of reading the comments and writing articles to game them.

Yeah, our engineering and computer science guys at university right now are quick to point out that what they need isn’t more students, they need better students. They’ve got a glut of thoroughly mediocre students who aren’t going to make any significant contribution to the profession, who probably aren’t going to

Nobody is irreplaceable.

John,

You left out one thing...tax returns. It makes me want to throw up every time I hear someone getting excited about receiving a refund check.

Due to Princeton’s grant-based aid, 82% of Princeton grads graduate with no debt, so you don’t really need to be a Rockefeller to graduate from there without debt. (source)
