Even if it’s off by a full order of magnitude it’s still tens of millions of people away from OP’s “most people” claim. Also, until someone comes up with a better metric for counting the number of people working > 1 job the BLS one is what we have.

Right. Giving every adult American 1k/month is a completely viable solution. Never mind that the tax base that plan depends for funding on is mobile, won’t benefit from said plan, and would likely react negatively.
People working more than one job make up a tiny percentage of the labor pool. The U-3 unemployment rate is calculated by taking the number of employed people divided by the number of people in the labor force. You don’t get counted more than once for working multiple jobs. AOC made a similar statement some time ago…
The issue is that the system sounds like it’s either using the literal “NULL” instead of the value NULL or has a query that confuses the two.
I suppose your solution is that “the government” aka people that have non-zero/non-negative tax liability should swoop in and provide these services at below market prices?
Every time I see something like this I’m reminded that if I eat it on a race track I’m SOL but if I eat it in a convoy of stupid on a public road my insurance company will have a check to me within a week or two.
As it relates to safety matters the rule at my home track is basically STFU and do what you’re told. On safety issues you pretty much lose all standing to offer up any sort of snark.
I was once offered a job where the compensation package did not meet my requirements. I told them as much and gave them the number they needed to beat.
I’m pretty sure one of the selling points when the US originally instituted the minimum wage was the fact that it would keep non-white workers, immigrants, and women out of the labor pool because there was no way anyone would want to pay them that much. White men are the only minimum wage success story. That turns out…
A regional inflator is literally wage discrimination based on where you happen to live. Equal pay for equal work. Same job? Same pay.
People need to evaluate post-secondary education as a real investment. What is the marginal utility of the decision? How far out is the break even point? How much money will it pay you over four working decades beyond that of someone that did something different?
Vote for politicians that want to let families externalize their expenses?
White Supremacist Terrorism = ATM Machine. Redundant.
If you’re self-employed or freelancing on top of a six figure day job you’re paying nearly 50% on that self-employment/freelance income.
Right there with you on single/high income. The marrieds, the marrieds with children, and the plain old with children gifted themselves all sorts of benefits and left it up to solo single people to pay for it all. Need more revenue? Let the married people and people with kids pay their fair share because they sure as…
If you look at the NYT article there’s a mention of the fact that Americans are supportive of taxes paid by other people but, hypocritically, aren’t supportive of being the target of those same taxes. Consequently some Democratic politicians are worried that support for those policies will become a liability when…
There are plenty of individuals roaming around in the US, many also working at Amazon, that have a higher income than Jeff Bezos (His salary was reportedly 82k last year.) No one with a clue thinks the Amazon developer making 300k is rich and Bezos isn’t despite the developer having a top percentile income that’s a…
You win the prize for knowing what you’re talking about. In low traction situations being smooth is always the key. Honestly I don’t even know what performance driving circumstance requires “high variability”.
People think nothing of going that far into debt for their home because it’s an “investment” (Even though it isn’t.) but doing it for something that nets a healthy six figure income stream is impossible to justify?
Reading comprehension is fundamental. I guess your education didn’t teach you that. The problem is the clown that can’t seem to process the fact that Americans with postsecondary educations are the wealthiest, highest income, demographic in the country and that any sort of policy that funnels money towards…
