It’s not the door latch. It’s the mechanical override for the door latch. If your car’s shift lever broke and you needed to put your car in gear would you be able to do it without consulting the manual? Probably not because that override isn’t intuitive either.

It’s because white people lose interest the minute their alleged beliefs require any degree of discomfort.

Another, which seems far more likely, is that minority voters are more likely to trust or at least give the benefit of the doubt to minority candidates. It’s not a coincidence that literally every candidate you chose to highlight here isn’t white.

Consider the fact that the median household income in NYC is 50k/year. and the median household income in LA is 55k/year. That’s two of our highest cost metros with household incomes in the ballpark you’re discussing.

I suspect that as far as individual incomes are concerned 50k/year is not going to come out as average for the middle class.
