I was thinking more of the a) cultural usurpation of the Meiji Restoration, b) a bad taste left over from their role in WW2, and c) how that particular war ended. They may like Western STUFF, but that doesn't mean they like Western peoples.

Can't imagine why, historically. Still sucks, but...
One can recognize the benefits of an occupation while still opposing it in general. "Ah, great, they feed the people they've occupied. That makes it all better," is not exactly a valid argument. If it's such a fine factory, it should continue without a problem if/after said illegal occupation is reversed.
"Something deep within the human psyche" - laziness and prejudice. Solved that one.
Gender as a social construct is not the same thing as biological or hormonal sex.
Ignorance by minorities is also not acceptable.
Ther'e's no right to demand anything, that's true. But yeah... I believe that those who believe in a better world have a harder world to live in. It isn't remotely fair. But that's the horrible part of this whole thing - inertia. The privileged feel wounded when their privilege is outlined, because it requires an…
That's not what's at stake. Be mad. Call people out. It's this view of two absolute extremes in reaction that's crippling. Feel how you feel, but understand that uaing that anger without a proper goal is just going to erode you and shore up their ignorance.
A better argument is that your anger is poisonous, self-destructive, and contagious. It won't change ignorance, but it will change you. Don't let them have your dignity. You can fight without going ugly. You can be outraged without taking the same shortcuts. So yeah. Confront. Address. Ignore. But getting low only…
While it gets better, Madoka is more of a focal character than a protagonist for quite a while.
Because that's what social conservatism does throughout history? Shake them haters off and rise above, fellow advocate! We'll always have better music.
Um...no. Even on the chance it's true, that's not your goddamned call. Just...wow.
Is your goal to be only marginally better than those people? High bar, wow.
Even so - anything side from a small recreational gift can be problematic if not requested or at least discussed. Kindness without consideration is just vanity. It isn't even kind.
Have you never seen Breaking Bad?
Nailed it, yeah. Hell, I love my Jezzies, but there be some pro-anti in this shizz.
Glad to know it's impossible to own one's sexuality due to the flaws of our society. Best give up now. Seriously. Seriously? Seriously.
Thank the gods you've met and dismissed the entire industry. If one person seeks or is led to learning something? Progress.
Except the entire industry is notoriously ignorant of diversity issues. Thus the need for a space to address that ignorance in an open environment. How exactly do you propose to address the issue without raising it? Got anything constructive to offer?
