I made this comment elsewhere on this article, but another factor to “banning” VBACs is that doctors don’t want to be on call for natural births so they schedule much more predictable C-sections.

This hospital sounds like middle ages. “Once a C-section always a C-section” lost popularity in the fucking 90s, maybe even the 80s. VBACs (vaginal birth after Cesarian) have been around for a long time.
I agree. Something like 80% of people who have had a c-section are good candidates to at least try for abac, and I think statistics show that more than half will succeed.
This seems like an un-necessarily broad policy. I know that some circumstances preclude VBAC but a blanket policy sounds unethical.
The 2015 study cited interviewed staff from 53 hospitals and did site visits to eleven hospitals. They were looking at which factors affected the C-section rate at EACH hospital. So some hospitals have C-section rates as low as 7% of their patients. Other hospitals had C-section rates as high as 70% of their patients.
How providers intersect with insurance companies and deal with litigation is why.
Dude is totally making Valyrian steel this season.
My (purely anecdotal) Pros of being an older momma: patience, established career, wisdom.
I have a “money tree” I’ve managed to MOSTLY keep alive over the last 7 1/2 years. My friends at work and I used to play a game of hiding/moving things in each others’ offices. One time they took my plant and it was game over. I didn’t realize how attached I was to my tree!
While hearty, bonsai trees are delicate, need lots of sunlight, and careful watering in the correct conditions. Having grown and killed a few, I hope those precious tree babies are taken care of.
Bwvause they are adorable? Do you not have kids?
This has got to be a regional issue. My prime deliveries are almost entirely 2 days, USPS, Sundays included. I curse these days when I get a UPS shipped item -- usually a subscribe and save. Those, and Prime Pantry are the ones we actually have issues with.
Dorit’s taste level is just....so wrong. I would hope that if I ever had that much money, I would still have people around to tell me when I look absolutely ridiculous.
I think some your guys’ racism is showing with all of these “that man can’t speak” comments... Nothing he said was impossible to understand, just spoken in a non-white/nerd way.
how is it nonsense? He has the number 6 album in the country. Did you prefer when the women beater John Lennon was using slang like groovy and far out. Your racism is showing.
By this logic, anyone who’s opened a business and then had it fail is a scammer?
Crazy Demon Tree story!
The summer after my sophomore year of college, my parents asked me to house sit for them while they went out of town for a long weekend. At the time, they lived in a fairly remote area so it was a bit of a trek, but it was a big beautiful house on the lake and my parents’ pets were sweethearts. First night I actually…
I just commented on another post about the time my then 2-year-old told my mother “Remember when I was your mom and you were my baby? But then I died.” My maternal grandmother died when I was barely 3, so it wasn’t like it had happened recently or anything that we’d talk about it. And no one else we knew had died at…
When I was I maybe 10th grade I visited a friend at her boarding school in southern Germany. The school was for kids of Americans abroad, mostly as missionaries, and was just outside a small town in the Black Forest. I don’t remember the name of the town but it was strait out of a fairy tale (the original ones, with…
