It’s an Eaton EGerodisc limited slip differential. That link has a better explanation than I could paraphrase from it. It’s the standard center differential on all WK and WK2 Grand Cherokees, and the XK Commander.

Can you please explain the concept behind an ‘electronically controlled clutch-type LSD?” How does it vary the torque to the clutch? Does it direct-drive the rear output and vary the engagement pressure to the front output, or some other mechanism? (I’m curious, not trolling...)
