I’m interested in the long-term life of carbon-tubbed road cars. Will these things be around in 50 years? Yeah they don’t rust, but if they crack it’s not straight-forward to find or fix. Don’t get me wrong - Carbon all the things - just an engineer bored at work.
Surely nobody’s worse than Porsche for this.
Meanwhile all the other cars are actually doing what cars do, driving down the highway, while Volvo Mc.Smugface sits there like a chump.

This past winter I was riding shotgun in one of these which blew a motor mount at well under 10,000 miles and took out a bunch of engine bay parts while it was at it. Did you know there are no engineered tow points on these? POS.
Agree - that car def got obliterated. The lady seems to be screaming something to the effect of “my car!” at the end too. But maybe that was the best possible outcome for her. It would’ve been trashed after jumping the tree. Now it’s gone from repairable to a write-off. Insurance might pay for a new one.

I find his Evo Diaries and Harry’s Garage videos to be so good. They’re all about actually living with these cars day to day.
The saving grace is that many good things have come to the automotive world from people pissed off at Ferrari. That’s what started Lamborghini in the first place, and in turn led to Zonda. That’s what gave us three generations of GT40...etc.

My point that I failed to articulate is that it would still undercut the Cayman GT4. I think already the M4 undercuts the Carrera lineup substantially, M4GTS undercuts the GT3 - not really apples to apples but close-enough. Similar power figures but a real weight difference. Mainly I’m hoping someone shakes up Porsche…
