And ~50% of the population still can’t work out why the “frat house” culture of CompSci and software development is a really terrible thing.

petition to add ‘my tribe’ to this list. signed, another judgey bitch (lets get a drink at an outdoor cafe and people watch together PLEASE)

Nobody remind Europe they ran over all of Africa and operated African nations as extension European states for more than a hundred years.

I think it’s fair to say that Europe will never be an African country, or at least not for a couple hundred million years.

Now playing

I was wondering when she stole Joan Crawford’s uniquely stagey voice and cadence (I say this as a Crawford fan; it’s bizarre hearing it come out of Williamson).

I really like Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle. They are really good at getting to the guts of an issue and they speak with clarity. They are interested in informing viewers rather than entertaining them. I want a debate moderated by Velshi and Ruhle.

There might be, if they did a lot more international coverage, and tackled important issues in depth.  But they are just a dog and pony show looking to entertain.  Which apparently means talking about Trump and every Tweet 24/7 as if they are continually surprised that Trump is an asshole.

I’ve been asking that question for a long time now.  He is a boar, he spits when he talks, so no one wants to sit next to him, and his opinions are dated.  I am willing to bet that the other commentators and anchors want him gone too.  Time to move aside and bring in some fresh blood.  Preferably someone of color as

Yeah, it was called “melencholia” and men who were tired of their wives loved it. Great chance to shovel her into an asylum and hook up with a younger woman.

Great article Ashley. I hope in the not-so-distant future you will address this:

It’s all really poor tv. Msnbc actually trots out the same guests each hour and has each taking head ask them minor variations of the same questions. There isn’t no insight, no depth, not even humor. Anytime it’s left on for over an hour I can feel brain cells actually begin to kill themselves..should mention that

Ummmm WHAT?!

This is the other problem with the 24 hour news cycle: talking heads have to stay “edgy” and “provocative” even when things aren’t. So you get morons like Chris Matthews slinging any stupid question he can at a wall and hoping something goes viral or gets a rise out of his interviewee.

And it is the WORST fucking kind of entertainment available. It literally causes anxiety.

TV news is entertainment, not information. Period. It’s insane to me how addicted boomers are to it. I work from home and go to the gym in the afternoon, so it’s usually just me and a bunch of 60+ people in there. About 95% of them put on a cable news channel and watch for the entire duration of their workout. I live

Same for Chuck Todd; they’re both an embarrassment on air.

I can forgive him for not seeing Kamala coming, because I sure as hell didn’t.

Kamala Harris’s brainchild was locking up single black mothers because their children skip school. Some of those children were chronically ill, bedridden, in too much pain to think about anything but how they could make it through the day, and their mothers were put in handcuffs. Joe Biden is a creepy ass chode, but I

I think he did great! He’s not going to be nominated but if he can force climate change front and center, maybe we won’t all die horrible deaths.

I agree! Throughout the entire film I just felt deeply unsettled, the depth of the family drama made me feel sick to my stomach- you could just feel the tension and discomfort. Super well made.
