I’m vegan and a secular Jew and this shit gives me the heebie jeebies.
I’m vegan and a secular Jew and this shit gives me the heebie jeebies.
Why are you deigning that with a response instead of banishing it to the greys?
“I thought you were a practicing Catholic,” Maher said.
tough shit. none of them have any place in any party i support. if i were a democrat in virginia the party would never see a dime from me (i contribute) or a minute of volunteer work (and i volunteer both in presidential and non-presidential cycles) until they’re all gone. i’d rather see the democratic party burned to…
I’m flummoxed by religious people’s refusal to believe that atheists can construct their moral and ethical worldviews outside of a religious scaffolding. It’s not that hard.
AOC has done a FUCKING FABULOUS job of reclaiming some of Jesus’s teachings for the left and turning the right’s “this is what jesus would have wanted” bullshit back on them. I’m pretty sure Jesus wouldnt have wanted people to die of completely treatable ailments in the “greatest” country in the world. Nor would he…
Atheism literally just means absence of belief in a deity/god. It’s not a religion in the same way lying on the couch is not a sport
To quote Luke Skywalker: “Amazing. Every word you just said is wrong.” Atheism is literally the opposite of religion. Maybe you meant to look it up in the dictionary and instead looked up an antonym in a thesaurus. Easy mistake to make, I know.
There’s a lot of very valid and humorous critiques of Melania Trump that don’t have to resort to slut-shaming.
That last part is especially true. Religious people often think it’s weird that we atheists can understand right and wrong without the directions put forth in the Bible. I find it terrifying that there are people out there who need the Bible in this manner—as though a magic book from 2,000 years ago is all that stands…
Dude, I’m an atheist and the only time I ever mention it is when people preach to me about god/religion. Except for when johavah witnesses’ come knocking on my door, then I tell them I worship the devil. They leave real fast.
Refusing to believe in fabricated stories designed to subvert free will and take your money is kind of the opposite of religion actually, but you’re free to your opinion.
But that’s not all they are, which is the point, in my mind. Chris Pratt is to his religious beliefs seems more like a Tom Cruise to Scientology thing. Colbert makes fun of the church all the time.
You seem to miss the point, which is, keep that shit, whatever your beliefs are, to yourself. Some don’t, and I find it annoying.
If he want’s to be super religious, that’s fine for him, but fuck dude, maybe keep it a bit more to yourself. I can not stand when people try to shove their religion down my throat. I’ll keep my atheism to myself, and you can keep your religion to yours. He’s officially my least favorite Chris.
I don’t get either of the two posts about Hayden. What is the point? Why is her personal life anyone’s business? Has she made news recently in a way that warrants all this scrutiny into her living arrangement? And who is she? Not being disparaging but I do not know...
I think there’d be a bit of a difference if, when asked in an interview something like “have you ever done something awful on a dare?” and Northam went “well, one time, I actually, all my friends were doing this blackface thing in college and they dared me to do it too, and I did for a few photos, and then I took a…
But he did more than fantasize. He himself says that he went out looking for someone to start something with him and no one would. That’s more than a fantasy, that is acting on those feelings. He was hoping a black man, any black man, would do something so he could take his anger out on them. He wasn’t fantasizing…
It’s... understandable? What? In what well-adjusted, adult world is it understandable to take the horrible thing that happened to your friend out on someone who had nothing to do with it but shares a skin color with?
I’d say it’s understandable that feelings like that can come up in such a situation. He did not act upon his rage, but instead realized how fucked up he was and tried to eradicate that strain of thought from himself.
However, why he felt the need to share this story with the world, is beyond me.
