I despise every person who works with this scam artist.

Her response to the trans community was basically this:

Apologies I meant Dylan Farrow (it was very early and I was still half asleep).

Haven’t you heard? ScarJo doesn’t care about the following: The West Bank occupation, Farrow Allen, white washing and trans people. That's a pretty big list.

Who the hell cast that? Mr. Gill was a big rough looking masculine person that insisted on be referred to as male, and they what? Cast a 110lb super effeminate looking woman to play him? He demanded to be called Mister. He obviously valued his masculinity. What are they gonna do? Slap a mustache on her? Jesus. Take a

It’s also self-serving in many ways. A movie about this man this could be made with a much smaller budget and, if the actors were great and the critics got behind it, be enough of a hit to cover it’s costs while raising awareness.

Yes, let’s get over obscene cultural appropriation. I suppose we should just move on from pointing out any sort of racism whatsoever.

Not every role is for every actor and this is pretty widely acknowledged and not all that controversial, unless you want to be purposefully obtuse about it. Selma wouldn’t really have been the same movie with Brad Pitt playing MLK now would it? I, Tonya woulda been kinda weird with Leonardo Dicaprio playing Tonya

Re-teaming with her Ghost in the Shell director Rupert Sanders, Johansson is set to star in a feature called Rub & Tug,

Yes. Pointing to how “things have always been done” doesn’t mean they were the right thing to do morally or-since that’s what really matters in Hollywood-financially.

Uh. I think people would FLOCK to the movie if they cast a trans actor. You clearly underestimate the buying power of the LGBTQIA community.

Could’ve explained the merits of why she was the one for this specific role.

I support you and all you endeavor

Almost likes those are two different fields and no one’s saying cis people can’t ever play trans characters, just that you have to actually justify why you overlooked the multitude of trans actors around to go for the cis one (and that has to be more than the generic “oh well she’s a star”, given that probably

Yeah, yeah, yeah but Ghost in the Shell bombed so while your argument might explain why this is sometimes done it doesn’t explain why Johansson and Sanders are being given more money to burn by miscasting a lead role...again.

Is it because she’s a bad actress so feels she has to take any role offered to her?

And anyone who tries to pull the “movies are expensive; they need a big name” bs is just an enabler of bad people and Hollywood would still be prevelant with black and yellow face if this bs idea was actually valid and made sense.

At this point, it’s hard to like Scarlett or Emma Stone, who played an Asian woman. How can these two not understand the backlash? This seems like such a no brainer. Then again, if you don’t have a brain...

I believe she’s a producer of the film also.

I really like this piece:
