I realize the internet isn’t always the best place to have these conversations, because everyone’s asshole dials are turned up to 11 (mine very much included), but these are issues I genuinely struggle with. The older I’ve gotten (first voted in 2000), the more “real world” experience I’ve gotten, the more I’ve come

OK, well, since you dismissed my reply for some reason (touchy touchy!): Liberals are very much an enemy of progress, and have been recognized as such for more or less the entirety of modern “social justice” movements. They can occasionally be strongarmed into doing the right thing, but no more than that. They didn’t

The Tea Party path is really the only way to overturn the establishment, though.

Liberals didn’t really do any of that shit though. Oppressed people either directly agitated for those things, through struggle (including protest, violence, and death) moving the needle far enough that liberals belatedly instituted governmental or legal structures recognizing battles that’d already been won, or were

I love how both you and Calvinballer... want to villify people for being kept away from primary polls structurally, which is the author’s fucking point.

I would say that the left isn’t inclined to go all in with stupid-ass tri-corner hats with tea bags stapled to them, but we sure did love us some pink pussy hats at the Women’s March. I guess the difference is, people made those themselves?

Honestly. The Clintons and the Cuomos have been in the “scratch my back” game together for a lonnnnnnnng time.

I’m a NY voters who supported Clinton in 2016 and generally has respect for her, but after the last year and a half I see her as the fading representative of the old Democratic establishment. She is absolutely not who I want to see involved in anything to do with running this country going forward, because it’s her

The single best thing I can say about Nixon is that she’s not Andrew Cuomo, who is a living, breathing avatar of Everything Wrong With Machine Politics. If you’re a fancy wonk-type, she’s also notably better policy-wise (though of course far from perfect — if you think plain ol’ progressivism is enough to get things

It has a lot less to do with how great Nixon might be and how incompetent and mired Cuomo has become.

Color me not surprised. Go away Hillary, you’ve really done quite enough. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Hillary endorsed Nixon in 1960, fat lot of good it did then

Weird how she didn’t endorse Cynthia Nixon, considering she is a woman and just being a woman was a big reason his campaign was pushing for voting for her. It’s almost as if just being a woman alone isn’t enough reason to vote for someone.

Nice to see that the only woman Hillary cares about getting into power is herself.

I think it’s actually better for Cynthia that HRC is not endorsing her.

your own definition of consent and assault

I disagree. She stated what had happened. The way HE behaved was pretty damn gross. Woman said “no” multiple times. I would say that’s not consent.

He suffered no consequences. Why do people keep on writing, “Hasn’t he suffered enough?”

He terminated the prison experiment six days into a two week run, because it rather quickly got out of hand.
