@ryoshi: To be fair, it's typically the publishers who are to blame for setting the arbitrary dates. Rarely does a developer want to rush a crap project out the door. Not saying it never happens though.

In shot #3 in the tube towards the bottom you can see what looks like a sentry product packaging all taped up in a neat box. I LOVE the idea that these little horror-turrets would be mass-manufactured for consumer use like that.

It's SO smooth- I'll bet you could crank that out at about 500fps on modern machines...
