With all due deference and respect to Senna, the darkest day in motorsports was June 11, 1955 at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

What the heck does it have to with me?

Interesting choice as I just visited the site and wrote up a piece for carsindepth.com. Meadowdale had so many safety issues that SCCA refused to sanction races there after the first year until (costly) modifications were made. It was designed by an architect, not a race track designer, and so much suburban

Thank you, Bill. Well put.

This, plus pretty much everything you wrote afterwards. Also, don't forget that it's the smaller, lighter driver who has an edge over the larger, heavier one, specially in open wheel reacing, such as F1. Differences in culture or interests is where's it's at.

We hit it at 4:07. Did our best to set up for it early and didn't lift at all until we were in the air. Not bad for a N/A motor but we probably could have carried a bit more speed through the L5 before the jump. Give us a dry runway next year and we'll go MUCH bigger.
