I understand that impulse, but the title is a jab at the sexist treatment of how women are categorized.

Louis C.K.’s “apology” always reeked of self-serving BS to me. I’m not saying people can’t change, but that doesn’t mean he gets to be a famous comedian anymore and that doesn’t lessen Corry’s pain. It’s really fucked up that people treat her like she’s committed some wrongdoing by exposing him because he was really…
The apology is fine. It doesn’t cancel his actions at all, and there’s no way to value its sincerity - and I mean that. We can’t know either way. What I do know is that his actions were totally inexcusable. I’m still smarting just from reading it, let alone what JW is feeling from experiencing it.
Been there.
I’m late to the party, but I read/listened to this last night, and I’m still angry. I loved this show, and watching it in the future with Tambor would’ve been dicey anyway, but I really don’t know if I can ever enjoy it again after this. Fuck them.
And to be clear, I am absolutely guessing at what she would have said because this conversation happened a WHILE ago. But I seem to remember her saying that shouldn’t have shown it at all (and if they consulted with any psychologists, they def. didn’t put their stamp of approval on it). And that the concept of the…
I think she would have preferred that they not show a suicide scene at all. Any of the things you mentioned were triggering, but showing cutting is extremely triggering.
I’m not arguing that censorship is the answer, but I think the suicide scene from the first season was incredibly irresponsible given their audience, and I wish they had made a different choice. There was no need for it. My wife (actual psychology-field career, as opposed to me) was totally aghast when I told her…
Thank you. I’ve stopped responding to any other comments because I think it’s just more aggravation for me (and I don’t need to add any more emotional work to my life), and I don’t think it’s going to change any minds here. However, I wanted to write back to you and say, solidarity, thank you for fighting, and keep up…
To be clear, I do not support subborning perjury. You’re right on that.
Are you a defense attorney?
It’s really easy to say what you just said - what you said is really popular. What I’m saying is not popular. I understand if you personally couldn’t do it - I’m just asking you to consider that we actually have a legal obligation to our clients to do everything within the bounds of the law to represent them -…
I’ve made this comment before, and I’ll make it again. If the defense actually works on the jurors, are the defense attorneys garbage, or are they people who are fulfilling the ethical obligation to their client that is mandated by the law of zealous representation? Because that is what is mandated - not…
I’m a public defender, so I’m not quite the same as a private attorney - I don’t represent people with bundles of money, and I don’t choose my cases. I’m in it to fight institutional racism. And I wouldn’t pick and choose my cases if I had the choice because I so strongly believe that everyone has the right to an…
Somebody has to defend this man, unless you don’t believe in the 6th amendment. He’s not eligible for a public defender, as he’s too rich. Is any lawyer who represents him trash, or are they trash for asking these questions?
One of my favorite phrases is, “It can be two things.”
Disclaimer: I have been obsessed with Judy Garland for as long as I can remember.
It hurt to watch her lose. It felt like one more nail in the coffin of artistry in skating while it becomes a jumping competition.
I’ve resolved myself to never getting out of the grays because I don’t comment enough, but hey, why not.
Friendly neighborhood Public Defender here. Most legal shows drive me absolutely nuts and are downright unwatchable for me.
