The leading theory is that they didn’t know about the 5 year jump, so you’re spot on with them assuming things will just return to pre-snap times. Fits with how the episode was written and the communication wall between Marvel TV and Studios is a well-known problem. Sucks.

I really like that callback to the Lion King gag from the pilot (it was my biggest belly-laugh the night it premiered, the one that sold me on this show). It’s really sweet that Mitchell was a part of it this time.

Forgot to do Agents of SHIELD: “Nothing Personal,” “Ragtag,” and “Beginning of the End.” I can’t count the Agents of Hydra arc in Season 4 because that was longer than three episodes (it totals about six or seven episodes). But then there’s also “Let Me Stand Next to Your Fire,” “Lockup,” and “The Good Samaritan.”
