I’m afraid if I do I’ll have to quit my job and devote myself to it full time.

Hey, to be fair we won first two weeks prior out of, like, 10 teams. The prize was a drink ... a single drink, for me and my boyfriend to split (which made me glad we didn’t have any more people on the team, and happy the bf also drinks merlot).
I fucking love competitive trivia. My boyfriend and I do it (tee hee) at the bar down the street from our place every Wednesday. We shut it doooooooowwwwwwwn. (And we took fourth place last night ... out of four ... no, you shut up.)
Is your dad my boyfriend?
Also the fact that he is very respectful of female co-hosts. Not females in general - just the ones who are being paid (likely much less) by the people who sign his cheques and who (ostensibly) have HR policies to prevent such behaviour.
Yeah. I remember the exasperation flash before her eyes prior to me giving details. I assume she had heard he was creepy, or maybe it was s0mething customer-service based and completely unrelated. I always wish I had asked more questions at all stages of this thing, but in the moment you just want to get it over with,…
Thought of the exact same pic. (Shudder.)
Sears told me that it was technically rented space within their facility and he was not an employee - which I guess was supposed to be an explanation/apology/something, but you’re right in that they should be held accountable. I have to admit that I was just so happy it was all behind me and that it was finally in the…
The comment about being “naive” really hit home, and it’s a reason I think a lot of people don’t come forward about being assaulted by those that they have contracted to do work that brings them close to their body - doctors, tattoo artists and, in my case, a tailor.
Is it terrible that I really want to read that limerick?
I just listened to that last week, actually. I had ZERO idea about her mother. Really caught me off guard and made me look at Fonda in a much different light.
I was going to recommend that the story about Millie Bobby Brown should have the title “TWO ZYGOTES DATING” but then I realized that could be taken by pro-lifers as proof life begins at conception (and then I said it anyway, as I am apt to do).
Same. And the fact that they kind of eased you into this universe they’ve created by starting with an episode based on something that could happen today and not in the not-so-distant future (though they did allude to a few of the technologies they introduce later, if I recall correctly) was the best way to hold the…
Also, in this situation, people may be able to separate themselves from their act by telling themselves “He’s not real, he’s not feeling anything,” so they would absolutely come out in droves. It goes back to one of the big themes of Black Mirror: what is it that makes one human?
Maybe I’m in the minority, but I love Christmas cards. In a world of texting, it’s nice that someone actually thought of you enough to sit down, scribble out some schmaltzy well-wishes, put a stamp on it and send it off in the mail. We’ve only received three so far this year, which is a far cry from previous years, so…
Ah, T-Bay. That explains everything. ;)
There are some in my area (just outside of Toronto) that have full kitchens for cooking demonstrations, and then there’s those in cottage country that are actually just a back corner of a convenience store (which always blows my mind - “Look, I’m buying rum AND Kraft Dinner!” - though I guess that’s kind of how…
No frigging way. You can have those too, with the right set of falsies. ;)
My ex husband did this to me in the last months of our relationship. He told me about it in the aftermath of it all - he thought that I was cheating on him, which I 100% wasn’t. What upset him more was that I WAS bitching to my friends about some of his actions (financially, emotionally, etc.) - and once he read that…
In the first episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, the “mole women” are freed and (of course) appear on the Today show. Matt Lauer interviews them (of course), and when one of the women says the reason she went with Reverend Richard was that she didn’t feel comfortable saying no, Lauer replies: “I’m always amazed at…
