You totally right on the Metro UI. I think that looks amazing. I'm super excited to try it out. The videos I've seen of it thus far look fantastic. I was more referencing past Windows OS.

The screen grabs above (attached to this article). Grosstown. New iCal interface. Not hot. These designs (IMO) are moving Apple in a direction that is over saturated an unnecessary. A far cry from the principles that made the original interfaces so appealing.

I see, not only cable companies, but content providers fighting this hand and foot. While there is money to be made from an Ad revenue model, large percentages are made directly from cable subs. To say this task is Herculean is an understatement.
