That and picking a lawyer who thought that shit would clear him.
Her reaction to learning the hat had been around the whole time was great.
His ridiculous press conference cannot have helped him.
I heartily laughed during the awkward silences between Nandor and Guillermo. You can feel the seismic shift in their relationship. Nandor used to feel comfortable treating Guillermo like garbage, but he now has a reason to be wary. Vampires don’t survive very long without strong survival instincts.
Part of what makes the dynamic work so well is that Nadja turned Laszlo into a vampire. It is very familiar because it plays around with the “parenting the husband” trope.
That toothpick bit never got old.
Simon: “I am so embarassed that you found me...”
And, “Human form” when he changes back!
She’s a wife
Also, Carol wanted to EAT him!
I think a piece of it is that Nandor barely pays attention to what Guillermo does, so Gizmo killing Carol doesn’t really mean that much to him.
Yes I think it’s similar to the bar conversations between Jackie Daytona and Jim the Vampire last week. He knows enough to work it out, but can’t quite put all the pieces together.
Yeah, I didn’t get that either — I thought the seed was planted in the moment where the “stake” sizzled a bit when Guillermo touched Nandor with the broomstick pieces but, no, I don’t think we’re at all meant to think he knows the whole deal yet. I could be wrong, of course, but that was my take. (As in, all the “wow,…
Nadja is by far my favourite character on the show. Her combination of genuine affection and utter contempt for Laszlo is just perfect.
Initially, I thought Carol’s deal was that she was a takeoff on a C.H.U.D. (Cannibal Humanoid Underground Dweller) from the seminal 80s cheesefest movie of the same name. But... she turned to dust when staked, so I guess she’s a vampire.
This was an A episode for me. I am still a little giddy hours later. When Laszlo and Simon said New York City I couldn’t contain myself. Also, I am not sure Nandor has fully put together that Guillermo is a vampire hunter. He seems to make totally astute comments without knowing how astute they are.
“Guillermo’s worst fear has come true, and his master knows he’s a vampire hunter. But Nandor doesn’t banish him from his service, or tell the other vampires what’s going on—more out of fear for his reputation than anything (at least, that’s what he says), but still, he seems to accept it.”
I will never get tired of Laszlo yelling “Bat!” as he transforms.
“Hello?! Excuse me... we mean you no harm, we are just walking in your shit pipe.”
