You may be reading into it too much, but on the other hand, this marks at least the 3rd time, maybe more, the show has called attention to the unlikely nature of the questions or the order of their selection (30 Pancakes, Murder, and Pillow Fight are all examples). So if the show were to reveal that Grant has been

Only four?

It's bizarre to think about, but you're right, vandermonde. If the tables had been turned, Ray could have killed Forrest and claimed self-defense too.

Also, I don't know what could possibly rival that great Season 1 ending. Forrest was down but not out, and he got to give his "I Quit" speech sincerely, but in a fake Irish accent. There was a bit of hope and redemption for him.

As I wrote in a comment below, I think in this episode we are starting to see the crumbling of Forrest's sanity.

I was going to say that his killing of Ray could shift the evidence of murder of the OTHER victim (coma guy) to Forrest.

Unless Ray had his own deadly weapon (which he didn't seem to), I'm not sure a self-defense plea is necessarily a done deal.

Sadly, this'll probably be the show everyone discovers on Netflix or a syndicated marathon 2 years later. "How'd I miss this?" everyone will scream. :/

O_o Now I have to rewatch some of those S1 episodes where Forrest brought the other people onto the show. I thought they were all strangely ignoring AJ. Maybe there's more to that than I originally thought. Even in "Revenge", nobody really reacts to the crap-attack that mostly hits her, except for Forrest. I mean,

And yet, despite AJ in a new location, nobody interacted with her or acknowledged her except Forrest, just like in the studio. Perhaps she is already his imaginary friend. ;)

And it doesn't hurt that she's easy on the eyes.

They were rather shamelessly enthusiastic about creating the catfish profile. :) OTOH, once they created the false identity, the rest was Forrest's doing.

Forrest did indeed tell his Dad that if he didn't shoot arrows at his head, that Forrest would go off and try to shoot an apple off Eric's head. It's there in the episode and is actually the most chilling line in the entire ep.

I'd say that, Review being Review, there is only a 50% chance of that.

He did indeed go with intent to kill, but there are enough nuances to the case that any outcome is possible from a legal standpoint. Clever writing; it keeps us on pins & needles til the end.

Forrest's Dad's monologue was brutal by the end. Just brutal. You felt sorry for both of them.

It would be an interesting flip to see a season where everything seems to go right for Forrest, even when it shouldn't.

If anything, it's more like "Man tries to play God, and fails". ;)

Touché. :)

I'm onboard for Grant/AJ as Devil/Angel (metaphors I'd considered from early on).
