I think you’ve swapped the “Breakthrough television under/over 40 minutes” categories. Just a did a quick check; Beef and I’m a Virgo at least are both under 40 minutes, and I know the Last of Us and Interview with a Vampire were generally around an hour each.

I feel like the real issue with the sketch is that we shouldn’t be mocking the appearances of teenagers, particularly when that mockery is going to be seen by other teenagers who might have similar physical features.

Remember, get vaccinated, folks!

Mayim Bialik is known to be a little strange so frankly, it tracks that she would say it that way.

Indeed, the problem with Jeopardy would be solved by making the game not Jeopardy.

Can’t believe you didn’t include the Venture Brothers in this one. Plenty of shows take big swings at the end of season one but only Venture had the guts to actually kill off its title characters, then spend the season two opener on the surprise reveal that the boys had been clones all along, that the original Hank

As far as “audacious season two openings” go, I have to give kudos to The Wire for completely changing the main setting of the show in its second season. Was it for the better? Well, that’s a different matter. But definitely audacious.

Listen, if anyone can be trusted to deliver a script about media pandering, it’s South Park, the ancient franchise that’s been pandering nonstop to mediocre edgy white dudebros for a quarter century.

I’ve maintained for a while that George is actually a highly moral character ... for a given value of moral. Which is to say, he has his own view of what is right in the world, and he sticks to it fiercely, even when it’s disadvantageous for him. It’s just that his moral system is severely out of synch with what’s

This. They’re not what you would call “good,” but they’re...normal? Petty and selfish is correct. But that’s hardly “awful.” And in most cases their petty revenge is against someone who really did commit an actual wrong against them. A petty wrong and gets a petty revenge and the world moves on. No lives were ruined.

Well said.

Yeah, I never quite understood the takeaway that the core characters were maniacs in a sane world. Nearly everyone they encounter is insane to some degree - in fact, I’m having a hard time thinking of characters that were even slightly normal through-and-through.

the way actor’s brains work is so special.

I think that’s what draws us to them, they sort of represent some of our worst instincts. In addition to Seinfeld I’m a big fan of Curb, and I often think I would pretty much be Larry David (the character) if I lacked self-restraint.

I agree. I think a lot of perfectly normal and pleasant people have done things that the Seinfeld characters did or have at least thought about doing some of those things.

So she got dragged for having an NY dialect that flattened the E in gems slightly so that if you really strain to hear it it sounds vaguely like she pronounced it “jams?” The outrage!

We agree on many things on these boards my friend but this is a line I can not cross. I love the original Pacific Rim with a passion. Its big, dumb and cheesy and that is what makes it great. The sequel is just really really bad.

Adeel Dazeem this is not.

Worse, the headline is so weird. It suggests that someone at the studio was uncomfortable with Fox and Safdie’s relationship when really they just wanted a known actress.

Ok, what is the “mispronunciation heard ‘round the world”? I clicked that link but it was just a boring TikTok exchange.
