To be fair, that video is about how they addressed the specific requirements of BotW, which doesn’t fit most games. Not all open-world games are going to have climb-anywhere (nor should they!), not all open-world games would benefit from purely random loot. Even still, BotW’s open world was incredibly boring for me,

I wouldn’t write off the curse that quickly. How many sitcoms has Keith Hernandez been in since ‘Seinfeld’?

I swear that rumors of a new Switch started the day the Switch came out.

I generally don’t like that mature-beyond-her-years thing movies do a lot. The Nice Guys is one of the kinda recent examples I can think of.  It plays with this idea that an “old soul” is someone you can talk to at your level, which really means the older man feels okay (and the audience is made to feel okay about)

Was there not a similar dynamic in Beautiful Girls, but in a light-hearted, small town comedy sort of way? I believe Portman’s character refers to herself as an “old soul” so that’s, you know, not great.  Too bad she seems to have served as an outlet for a certain stripe of creepy adult fantasy at that point in her

I finished it and enjoyed it well enough, but it did feel like a slog at some point (I remember taking a break for many months). If you ask me what I remember the most about it, it’s moving blocks around with a magic wand in the shrines and the goddamned rain. Still I preordered this one, hope springs eternal.

There have been rumors of a new Switch for years. I feel like at this point we will get one when we get one. I suspect that the pandemic delayed it for sure but I also think that Nintendo looks at the Switch sales, which are still really good, and remembers the Wii to Wii-U transition and does not want to repeat that.

Honestly even knowing this info now, I still can’t justify finishing BOTW, I only had one Divine Beast left and then Ganon and just so many things about the game were incredibly frustrating.

Okay...so you can see the problem then.

Well, YouTube is kinda washed now. The new frontier is TikTok.

Star athletes are still exploited though. Star athletes are not only the main contributors to the team’s athletic success, but in many instances are the main contributors to the overall value of the team. Go look at what the Milwaukee Bucks sold for after getting Giannis who led them to their first championship in

It’s worse than a landlord because if they’re not paying rent the clear implication is the house is tied directly to their job.

What Mr. beast does isn’t as simple as you make it sound. I’ll grant you that it’s good for people to receive necessary medical care.

Even if he’s not outright giving the houses to his friends/employees, they’re still ending up with housing as a perk of the job.

If the employees aren’t the owners of the homes he’s now their boss AND their landlord.

It’s also a real estate investment for him, rather than just a good thing to do for his employees.

More like that puts their housing under his control and makes it more difficult to get out from under his thumb if problems arise.

Even if he’s not outright giving the houses to his friends/employees, they’re still ending up with housing as a perk of the job.  That’s going to save them whatever it would cost to rent in the area, and let them build up a down payment for whenever they plan on purchasing a home.

Come back when you know what “exploitation” means in an economic context. You can start here:

“Earned” is a strong word to use here. Nobody gets $54 million by earning it. They get it by exploiting the people who worked for it.

Employer provides incredible benefits package, using money earned from doing good deeds. Kotaku: “Isn’t that terrible?”
