I don’t agree.

There are a lot of pro-Putin leftists on social media who blame NATO and the US for the whole wore and absolve Russia of any blame. It’s really ridiculous.

I don’t agree.

They are allowed to choose to do that kind of level and other people are allowed to criticize that choice.

So was Treadstone pandering to men when they had several scenes involving strip joints and sexual workers?

Similarly, a Hook & Reel opened here during the stay-at-home portion of the pandemic and has already closed.

See my previous comment. Strippers did not inadvertently wander into the game. The developers chose to set a level of the game in a place where women are sexualized because it appeals to the game’s overwhelmingly male fan base. It was an excuse to show more half-dressed women. It is fair to criticize that choice.

You’re right. Hitman 4 is a nuanced commentary on the human condition. It would never stoop so low as to include content or characters just to titillate the fans.

Oh I’m sure that was the only intention. To simulate the real world. Certainly not to stimulate something else.

“Remember the Time” by Jackson should be here as well. It features Iman, Magic Johnson, and Eddie Murphy still in his prime. But I guess they wanted to confine the list to bigger stars like Florence Henderson.

In a scene set in a strip club, you would expect there to be strippers.

Most of the alleged “inaccuracies” I’ve seen people complain about are just nitpicky bullshit that misses the point of what she’s talking about. Stuff like, “Sure, you have to save Elizabeth, but she gets you ammo so it totally doesn’t count!” Maybe there were serious inaccuracies that legitimately compromised what

I’m not criticizing her. I’m criticizing the people who made her enemy #1.

“There sure are a lot of games that feature damsels in distress...”

“KILL HER!!!”

It really says a lot about the world we’re living in that a woman doing a basic, surface-level feminist reading of video games became such a lightning rod. I haven’t engaged with everything she’s done, but I watched a few of the Tropes v. Women in Video Games videos and it was very mild and friendly. The way people

I agree that she’s not at all manic nor pixie. But she resembles a manic pixie dream girl in that she’s more of a plot device than an actual character. Her entire existence in the show is centered around Carmy. She doesn’t seem to have any hopes or dreams of her on and she’s seemingly dismissed in the finale as part

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

Well being better than The Rise of Skywalker is a very low bar, but I don’t think you need a villian to be mysterious or have a redemption arc to be interesting. I think it would have been fascinating to see what Kylo’s version of full-on evil would have looked like and what his next steps would have been. I get not

For the record, there are plenty of reasons why someone could “get” The Last Jedi and still not like it. But when people make bad, lazy arguments about it, I have a right to point out how they’re bad and lazy.

I don’t think Kylo was on an obvious redemption arc at all though. Abrams had him on a redemption arc, but I don’t think that was Johnson’s goal. In my mind, the redemption arc should have been over with Kylo taking over for Snoke as the new big bad. Trying to make him another Darth Vader to be redeemed at the end was
