The 6S was the last iPhone with a physical button. The 7 and 8 don’t physically depress. And Face ID is infinitely better than Touch ID. Leaving security off is highly not recommended since your iPad is still a link to your Apple ID. Someone could mess things up REALLY badly for you if they got ahold of it.

Uhh no, Face ID is very secure. Your paranoia is misplaced. Passwords are very secure being locked away with Apple. And yes, the time saved adds up. I already get this by having my Watch unlock my Mac.
