The way I would do it then is to use the built-in restore option to get it back to a clean state. Or attach another hard drive and attempt a clean install on that first.

If you’re using software that won’t work on anything past XP, it’s time to ditch that ancient crap and get with the times. XP is unsupported and highly vulnerable, as well as not being HIPAA-compliant at all.

Nothing about 10 is worse than 7. Windows 10 just plain boots/runs faster than 7 or 8. It’s done so on every of the several older machines I’ve done clean installs on.

Not that it matters anymore, but you had to actually upgrade AND activate before today. Your key doesn’t get registered with MS until you’ve installed 10.

Chrome, but only if you don’t use a Mac. Otherwise, Safari has all those features and is built in. And it’s faster.

FLAC has no advantage over those.

Most apps do, including all of Apple’s stock stuff. So boo hoo, you have 3 other apps up there. Your menubar isn’t exactly busting at the seams unless you install a crap ton of utilities (which would be on you). Do you complain about the Dock too?

iTunes supports both ALAC and WAV ripping. iTunes also does easy transcoding. You can also transcode specifically when syncing to an iOS device, while leaving the lossless copy in your library.

If you’re ripping CDs into iTunes, there’s no reason to not just use iTunes. Tag editing in iTunes is easy, too.

Chrome has never been as fast as Safari on my Macs. And that’s with no extensions installed.

It’s updated yearly, as you can tell by the comment dates.

Your profile name can be hidden without Bartender. I haven’t seen that for years.
