Thoughts:

That GTA5 paradigm works, because GTA5 is a full countless-hour game by itself, not even considering online, all for $60.

Honestly, as much as #PerformanceMatters, the actual developers who do the hardest work are far more underpaid and their jobs far more at risk than voice actors.

The whole cheating project had to have been initiated at a low level. Management would have known that there’s no way they wouldn’t have been caught eventually. Your theory that it was an engineering group that wanted promotions/bonuses is as good as any.

One would assume that Riot would consider their old contract null & void, thus freeing them up to reform under a new brand or even go their seperate ways.

“...Arment has also realized that ad blockers aren’t a perfectly ethical solution to the problems with spyware-laced advertising online.”

And also made it a significantly more boring card to play :P

Lyft is soooo much better. I mean, they do want to talk to you the whole time and give fist bumps... but that’s better than being raped, I suppose.

Weeks like this are why the gaming industry is a good distance away from being considered a professional industry. Too many people with less business sense than a freshman business major at a state school.

Someone else said this in your beta post yesterday, and it struck me as all too true. Because of the 3 year dev cycle, a lot of new features that really improve the franchise don’t make it into the next 1 or 2 installments. It’s like they are in a perpetual state of trial and error, without the ability to evaluate

I’ll admit that when I got to the part about them having a nanny and a house cleaner, in addition to working from home, I may have strained my eyeballs due to over rolling.

I am officially delighted and charmed by GRRM. Those Alfies are total class and much-deserved by their recipients. I keep smiling that he did such a thing.

It’s in the state it is in BECAUSE it has no publisher. No one to give hard deadlines, no one to say “This has to be done by X date.” It’s freeing early on in a project to be able to experiment, but at a certain point, you need to set your eye on release.

Of which there will be, Humans are skilled at finding patterns even when none exist. So as a result, true randomness when generating content is entirely pointless. You’re better off creating a pseudo-random generator with some guidelines. It’s half the work and gives you more control so users won’t end up running into

I don’t quite get why these long tubes are here, other than being warp nacelle extensions of the headlights. I think an approach that is more of a narrow front with a fender flare effect that broadens out to the body would look better.

Boooooooooo! Why must you limit the potential! DC you were doing so well with your TV universe! Don’t just spread your stuff all over town, never the twain shall meet!

I thought this paragraph from Charlie Pierce yesterday really summed it all up:

Yes, it is not reasonable to say character design teams should be working hard to fix clients. However it is sensible to say Client UI team should be getting more funding even if it takes away resources from charecter design.
