Good intel on the barefoot thing, I actually believed that one. I do that in my Jeep all the time when it’s warm and I’m wearing flip flops. To me it always felt way safer than possibly getting a flop caught under a pedal.

They just need to sell Ford loot boxes. For $100 a pop you can open one and hope that it has an option you want for your vehicle. It will mostly be terrible paint colors and ugly plaid patterns for your seats, but you can always hope.

They are clearly a money making scheme in Australia. If it wasn’t, then all the proceeds from fines would be donated to charities or earmarked for other initiatives to improve peoples’ lives.

Neutral: If they are like every other automated system on US public roads and are operated by a non-governmental 3rd party, then no. It may work elsewhere, but here in the US they’ll turn into a money making scheme like speed traps and red light cameras.
