Not that it's a new feature, but it's a little amazing to me that I can jump between platforms and continue reading where I left off. I don't always carry a tablet but I do always have my phone. And by the way, check out calibre if you need to convert between book formats and stuff like that.

A good strategy until your credit card gets cut off. You need some emergency funds.

Yeah, I kind of took the need for an emergency fund as an unspoken one. Table stakes if you will.

as many people have said, just because you might not want to do that now, doesn't mean you wont want to do it later! a down payment for a house can be a lot of money! i currently live in Vancouver bc and the cost of a small 1 bedroom plus den condo that is close to things is roughly 350 - 450k!! so to have a 20%

I know it used to be the case that it was cheaper to buy a PC but at this point I don't do it because it's cheaper to build a whole one (though it can be). I build my own machines because I don't have to build an entire machine. In fact, I haven't had to build a machine from scratch in about 15 years.

Comments show there is so much emotion/anger when it comes to money whether it be victimhood or mis-calibrated expectations. The US social-mobility index (the 'American dream') has largely stalled relative to other countries and there are a lot of average people who are sliding downward due to the shrinking

My Pebble lasts about 6 days before needing a recharge. It was also $125 from Kickstarter...now it's $150...just misses the mark on both counts for you :(

Lots of people have the aptitude and knowledge to be at/graduate from Harvard. We even have living proof (our 43rd President) that one can graduate from Harvard (he holds an MBA from there, go figure) without having actually gotten an education. Unfortunately, Harvard has a very limited number of seats, not enough

It is 100% industry dependent...

If you are learning a trade, NO - certifications and/or experience will suffice: see HVAC, welding, plumbing, electrical, etc, or even computer science and photography.

If you are interested in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics), a Bachelors at minimum,

So for the price of other unlimited services (I can only speak to CrashPlan personally), Carbonite won't backup your videos as well as throttle you to the point where it's not really unlimited because you'll never finish your initial backup. Not only is that bad value for your money, but it's a bit of a dick move on
