Regarding Robert Plant’s solo stuff - I remember in 8th grade buying Now and Zen - thinking it was a mark of maturity that I was a.) buying an album by a much older artist and b.) an album that wasn’t hair metal

Doing the usual ‘listen to each album you acquire at least twice’ initiative - along with a Maha music festival-themed list of albums this week:

It would be a toss-up, but I would say Princess Caroline from Bojack Horseman (narrowly beating out Mr. Peanut Butter)

The commentators have been a wonderful salve for my usual workday. I'm particularly fond of reading everyone's shuffle threads - just to see everyone's passionate responses and diverse tastes. I'm going to miss that considerably.

Maha music festival-themed week:
New Pornographers - Whiteout Conditions
Run The Jewels - RTJ III

Awesome album to listen to (Twin Cinema)

R.E.M. - "Lightning Hopkins"
Ani DiFranco - "Imagine That"
The Roots (feat. Common & Dice Raw) - "The Show"
Mission of Burma - "Weatherbox"
Perfume Genius - "Alan"
Bjork - "Submarine"
Kurt Vile - "Smoke Rings From My Halo"
Soundgarden - "Half"
Sheryl Crow - "Mississippi"
Lucinda Williams - "Over Time"
Arlekin

Apparently! Kudos

And this is month eight of this trainwreck. Ham Rove managed to survive seven years - not months

Jesus, Dagwood, that is a big ass sandwich you're eating.

I was about to post this - but I had to do a word search first and yes, another one popped up.

To Arcade Fire's credit, almost every artist or band that people revere have released at least one derided album (Dylan, Neil Young, Public Enemy, The Rolling Stones).

Heyah Win - if you're reading the comments section, your new album sucks. Never try anything new again*.

Sadly, no, but that is inspired. I have an agreement with my mom - she watches my dog while I'm at work - I mow her yard. And I Get Wet seemed to be perfect lawn-mowing music (even though I never heard all of the album straight through).

Agree wholeheartedly on Feist's latest. I've given it a few listens, and it just hasn't sunk in yet - I really do like it - but I've been a bit frustrated because each time I listen to it, I usually end up with a few distractions - preventing me from giving it a full, undivided listen.

Love Pre-Millennium Tension - one of the darkest, most claustrophobic listens in 25 years

I got to fly out to San Francisco for a job interview, meaning long flights, meaning I could chip away at some of the double-albums in my "you must listen to each album you've acquired since 2009 at least twice - full front-to-back listen" initiative. This week's ones included:
The Stone Roses S/T - Deluxe Edition
Radi

Trump's the equivalent of that person who routinely says the stupidest shit. Then, they finally have a moment of sanity (no matter that it took said person way too long to reach that point) - they finish saying their "moment of sanity" - you breath a sigh of relief - then they say "one more thing" - and you know right

Finally finished Ernie Pyle's World War 2 reporting, and that freed up some space for me to burn through the Umbrella Academy graphic novels (books 1 and 2 (Dallas) ). Now, I'm on to Stephen King's IT (reading it for the first time).

Awesome! Have a great trip!
