I use the same mouse, have a Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Keyboard, and am getting a pair of Audio-Technica ATHM50S Headphones. Works really well for both of them so far, and I can't wait for my headphones, so don't see why you are going to make a jab at one company or another.

I've also noticed that the thread with a writer gets pulled to the front of the discussion...

I want to say that the only reason that the writers are commenting now, is because they garner a lot of attention. With them commenting people will feel obligated to comment on what the writer said.
