As much as I like Ghost, they’re not Metal, they’re Pop, sorry.

No, we don’t want sports to be a space for political debate. But that being said, the issue at hand here is NOT ‘political debate’. The invasion of one country by another is NOT ‘political debate’. Too many things have been treated as ‘debates’ over the past few years. Russia’s invasion was an act of war, and…
Who’s the president of the FIA again?
I think if the party and cause affiliations were reversed, people would be screaming in protest.
Nothing like “emergency powers” being used to take people’s private property without recourse.
Bingo. This is a factory custom and is in immaculate condition, unlike the DIY custom jobs with questionable (and often undocumented) histories. The fact that Cadillac never made a proper wagon in this era just adds to the cool factor.
Silly me.. actually thinking that I could get a complete story in one place!
This article screams “tell me the author is a Hamilton fan without telling me he’s a Hamilton fan.” vibes three paragraphs in. This is as bad as having British announcers during the race.
Yeah, this article title is disingenuous. Zero mention of why the new race directors are controversial. I don’t follow DTM, but Freitas has been outstanding in WEC. I only wish that F1 would adopt the WEC style radio communications that broadcast race control to the whole field simultaneously.
Sulayem said direct radio contact to the race director would “be removed in order to protect the race director from any pressure and allow him to take decisions peacefully.”
Masi wasn’t sacked - he’s being offered another position within the FIA. It was the FIA that f*cked up by putting him in a completely untenable position without the resources to do the job. And the proof of that is their creating a job share position to replace him and providing more resources and less interruptions…
Freitas is probably the least controversial appoinment possible, since he’s highly respected by drivers and teams and has not had any major controversies in his time as WEC race director. He is also usually quite strict on track limits and driving standards, so F1 drivers might be in for some change.
I don’t think he will care. If Hamilton had won under similar circumstances, he wouldn’t either.
43GB PC Patch for what it is mostly “improvement” with few actually new stuff... fer fuck sake.
probably because they found that Masi acted both within the rules and independently.
both Merc and RB were yammering in his ear. earlier in the race Merc demanded no safety car when it should have been one and then tried to prevent the safety car from being recalled at the end of the race. RB wanted a safety car in the…
It’s not as scripted. Also it needs the drama to sell considering how boring the racing was since 2016 at the front of the field.
The only reason we had a memorable race out of Hamilton was because of penalties, not because of the sprint race format. All it does is give another first corner, then everyone settles into their positions, afraid to do any damage to their cars before the real race.
When F1 wants to be a US reality TV show, this is what happens.
Sprint qualifying is one of the worst ideas F1 has ever produced and I, for one, am glad that it’s limited to three, although I would much prefer it if they didn’t do it at all.
Bradley, who thought it was a good idea to have you write about F1 again?
