Good god this is a bad take...

I’m genuinely curious to hear what most peoples’ suggested alternative would have been.

“Neither title contender deserved to lose this year’s championship, especially not in an unforeseen manner like this.

If you think F1 is no longer a sport because of questionable officiating decisions, I'm afraid you don't watch many sports.

You get it right, the real problem was Mercedes’ play-it-safe strategy that was not to safe after all. Red Bull took some risk by switching the tires twice more - and don’t forget Max was faster for like 1/3 of the race - and it came out victorious due to mere luck. No Latifi crash, nothing would happen. After it they

The saltiness of the British fandom is going to be enough to create a new Dead Sea in the English Channel.

Sorry guys but the race was lost the moment Latifi crashed.
The judges waited too long to permit unlapping, true, and found a half-baked solution to correct that mistake.

I’m sure he’s devastated.

I do not understand why Lewis wasn’t required to give the place back on that first lap pass. every single other incident like that all season (and several seasons prior) the guy who cut the chicane had to give the place back.

lot of seeming shenanigans this season, from the silverstone punt going basically unpunished,

Yeah, because the average every-person just hangs out with Neymar and Bieber at Monaco.

Do you think that there are possibly other reasons not to like someone other than “right wing racism?” Essentially based on your statement everyone who does not support Hamilton as their favorite driver is a racist. I mean really?

Pointless article.

What about that time Hamilton took out Verstappen in Silverstone and got a penalty for being the one at fault. Sure, it cost him 10 seconds, but gained 25 points in his favor when it might have only been as much as 7 points (if they finishing ham 1st, ver 2nd) or a reduction of 7 (if their finishing positions are

F1 needs a Max. Otherwise we get bland little robots who’ve been molded into exactly what F1 wants them to be, such as Ocon, Gio, Mick, Botas, LeClerc, Botas, etc. All great drivers no doubt, but with personalities and risk tolerance equal to a wet paper towel.

So Max gave the position 2 times and gets a 10 second penalty?

I do remember Vettel getting a penalty for that sort of thing in exactly the same situation(team 1-2, double pit stop)

I thought the 5 second penalty on Max was pretty questionable, but ultimately Max’s tires were totally cooked so it didn’t make a difference. Thrilling race, but there will be some legitimate questions about Masi, the stewards, and Red Bull race strategy. Max was definitely full send the whole race, sometimes he was

Shades of Coulthard and Schumacher in Spa-1998. Wonder what the stewards will have to say about this one. I honestly can’t formulate an opinion one way or another. What I can say is that Bottas should lose 3rd place after backing Max up during the first SC.

LOL, “take a rapper more seriously”!

Yeah, actually, forget exporting Indy to Europe, can we import Sidecar racing and FIA Trucks to the US? Pretty please?
