Considering that Page-Roberts doesn’t think front and rear crash protection is necessary for the passengers, I don’t think protecting passengers from the battery is a big concern either. In fact, I believe they are counting on the squishiness of the passengers to protect the battery.
My main concern, as someone who religiously ties down his heavy tools and gear in his wagon, is what a huge lump of mass behind the passengers does in a crash. Seems like it would weight MORE than underfloor because you would have to strengthen the crash structure perpendicular to the crash forces.
Shelby did something similar with the 1986 and 1987 Shelby GLHS models. The base cars (Omni/Charger) only had an 85 MPH speedo. Instead of creating a new speedo, they just added a little sticker at the bottom of the speedo that continued around to 135 mph.
I want to buy a Maverick, and get “GOOSE” as the license plate.
TLDR: We are still living with what is basically a protectionist knee-jerk reaction from over half a century ago.
My favorite thing about these pictures is the lack of any perceptible rise, implying this car just goes airborne at random.

I think it would be more of a zombified “Oooooo, soooooorreh.”
Money isn’t finite. We gave up that system decades ago. The fed prints it at whatever rate they deem okay. Also a one time payment of $650 to every American wont solve anything. He also doesn’t even really have the money. His net worth is tied up in stock.
He doesn’t make millions per hour in spendable cash. His net worth is all tied up in Amazon stock. Sure he has more liquid cash than you but its not like he’s sitting on a billion dollar bank account and I don’t think his spending habits or lack there of affect my life aside from the price of shipping from Amazon.
Its the benifits thing, its usually cheaper to pay someone OT, even if the hours are crazy, then to hire 2 workers and have to pay them both benefits.
Always laugh when companies do this. “We can’t afford to hire any more staff. Therefore we’ll pay overtime on the current staff, effectively paying you the wages of multiple more workers.”
Agreed fully. I think most people are broken though. I’ve always said, the moment I get to $2.1M you’ll never see me work another day in my life, since the 5% yields I can get from REITs mean I’ll make $100K a year to do sweet f-all. But somehow that isn’t enough for a lot of people.
The paint doesn’t match on the passenger side doors. You can clearly see this in both passenger side photos.
Seriously. At 5'3" , Elizabeth is at “normal person” height; it's a truck problem, not a her problem. If I, a 6'0 dude, find stock truck beds and cabs too tall to load, something has gone very wrong.
What was it like loading stuff into the box? Can you even see into the box without a step ladder? This is a problem affecting all the full-size trucks lately - instead of adding retractable step stools, how about making the trucks not quite 7 feet tall?
The trucks are too damn high!
My sarcasm is too strong for you.
