This is my favorite picture in the piece.

Now playing

It’s been too long since we had the Brony contingent around here. (Or maybe not. Or maybe I’m just getting old.)

So taking the Jeep as an example, what is the difference at night when the real headlights are on? I don’t recall one headlight (now that song is stuck in my head, damn it) going out at night when the turn signal is activated. Is it a function of the distance, or the relative light output and pattern of the LED

I’m no expert on dyno pulls, but does the graph provided indicate the engine makes 0 power until 3k RPM?

Not gonna lie — I saw the headline and read the article thinking the entire time this was a Torch special.

He’s dragoning the hell out of that Corvette. Ray would be proud.

True — I should have said “unnecessary LEDs just for the sake of them.” Replacing incandescent lights is indeed a good idea.

This floating D-pillar trend needs to stop. It’s the new “LED ALL THE THINGS” trend, which replaced the fake fender vents trend.

These are some really great photos, Kristen, especially the last one and the one where you’re checking out the night vision.

I’m embarrassed to admit that never even entered my mind! :$

Is there some sort of history as to how the MSP became *the* definitive testing source for cop cars?

It was indeed a very comfy car — I have yet to find seats as comfy as those, although some of the Fords and Volvos come close. It was also my first lesson as to why you never own the first year of a model. (But apparently not since I repeated that error later.) The 1990 that replaced it was better in every way

My first car :) Also had “Fuel Injection” badges on the front fender (those survived until the ‘89 model year) and the model name on the rear fender, a trend which died out sometime in the ‘90s. I can’t imagine seeing a car today with that, but it seems to fit perfectly on anything before then.

A guy passes me every day in one of these on the way to work, although his is emblazoned with at least six “232" badges. It gets me every time.

But how many gears do you have???

We had a blue Cutlass Cruiser version with just the 231. No fancy badges for that, though. My dad would tell me that the car it replaced — a ‘67 Delta 88 with its 455 — had an engine twice as large as the one in the Cutlass. At the time I took it to mean that the front end of the car stretched twice as far out and

Some dude around here has a couple of interesting JDM diesels.

Aside from the out-of-place Spirit of Ecstasy, what’s up with the center caps on the wheels? Did they really make “A” ones for Azure? I’ve never seen anything other than Bs, but I’m not an encyclopedia of Bentley.

Yep -- the Spirit of Ecstasy on top made it an instant CP for me.
