I agree that you can’t rely solely on cost/brand to assess quality, but price differences are often there for a reason, although also often inflated. Even if made in the same factory, a dress made out of higher quality fabric with a lining, etc. should and will cost more than a simpler one made out of cheaper fabric.…

That’s true, but even quality items are produced in the same places as crap, they just make them to different specs.
