I wouldnt read too much into it. Its going to end the same way nearly every season. With the last two episodes having some dire drama and then the next seasons go back to the status quo of slice of life eps with the last two being dire drama episodes.

I dont understand people calling episodes in AT filler in a show that isnt a continuing plotline. AT is a slice of life show, just with character development that sticks. Its not the kind of show where an amazing endgame has been thought out. Its always been about the adventure, not a continuing arc.
