So, I was listening to a true crime podcast and apparently the reason we get the most weird stories out of Florida is because they give the most public crime info.  You can find out more without requests than other states.  I found this very interesting.

I have a feeling that this story is just odd right now, but when more info comes out, it’s going to get really sad, really quick.

James Mattis and George Schulz! Its amazing how easily snowed these old White dudes were by a pretty blonde chick talking science. Then again, that is how Faux News works.

And they NEVER SAW THE TESTING MACHINE ACTUALLY WORKING either. One guy invested so much money, his grandson decided to get a job there. The grandson actually had some knowledge and education in the science of it. He never saw the machine working either and saw with his own eyes, the company falsifying reports and

Every time I see a picture of Elizabeth Holmes I keep thinking, “She looks crazy enough to stab someone just for the lulz...”

I agree - she definitely had the self-awareness to know that had she decided to defend her son and not resigned the credibility of Time’s Up would have been deeply damaged. So that’s good at least.

I can't take any position on the accusations against her son, but doesn't her resignation display a level of self awareness and integrity we don't usually see these days?

Nope. That was my first reaction, too.

It’s a minor point, but it’s unnerving that in 2019 a major newspaper for grownup adults in this country has to go all the way past the antiseptic, technical options - “genitals” “vulva” etc. - to the totally infantilizing “private area, to refer to parts of a female body. Are we really that unable to even admit

Is it weird that my take on this is that a man cost her her job? Because of sexual harassment?  I understand the conflict but still, maybe this could have been a teaching moment?

A water fast is the other way around. It’s where you only have water for 3 days. Still dumb, but not “going to put you in the hospital for dehydration” dumb.

I’ve been on the OMAD (One Meal A Day) for the last two weeks and I’ve really noticed the opposite. I no longer have the late afternoon post lunch crash, and overall I have more energy throughout the day. Now to be fair, that mainly could be due to the fact that I am overweight by 40-50lbs, so my energy could just

Lmao, when you trust your co-conspirators enough to fake a hate crime, but not enough to pay up front.

When I get really stressed and/or depressed, I can’t eat.  I stop noticing the hunger after 20 hours or so.

What’s worse, apparently the check was post-dated.

Now playing

Sounds a touch reminiscent of Don’t Talk to Irene:

why is everyone’s top reversed in the lead image for the video?

I get that as a woman (queer one at that). We code switch. But hers is a little...much. I would highly recommend the podcast about it that goes into great detail about the extent of her con (her voice only being a small part of it).

I know this is one of the least important aspects of the whole Theranos debacle, but I cannot read a story about them and not start burning anew with the need to know if George Schultz has apologized to his grandson yet.

For women in business, it’s often necessary because otherwise our words don’t get taken seriously. My natural speaking voice is what one would describe as “girly” and youthful, and I have to switch to serious-person-bass when I’m in court.
