I read The Phantom Tollbooth as a kid in 1975 and it blew my tiny mind.

Damn.

Also Jason Schwartzman, Rashida Jones, Ben Foster, Mike White and Ann Dowd [as Kim Kelly’s mother].

Who the hell is Janice from the AV Club?

The leads were pretty but their on again/off again drama soon became boring; these are the two I wanted to spend more time with.

Jaw drop.

I mean, I’m a reasonably symmetrical person

I watched the whole season; she didn’t play dead once!

I think Zero belongs on this list, despite losing two brothers plus Mudda & Fadda Fadda over the course of the season, he managed to survive and parted on good terms with his ‘adoptive’ Dad before Loy came to a grisly end.

The nicest thing I can say about it is I did hate it.

Yeah, but she’s gone from smart, above it all teen to...smart, above it all teen who’s finally a bit more involved in the story. Plus for all the danger that’s surrounded her she’s never really seemed in peril.

I worry that all I’ll remember from this forgettable season is Oraetta’s stupid penguin walk.

it’s more or less guaranteed the finale is going to spend its time on people we actually care about

Her restrained fury at Thatcher talking over her was acting at its finest.

Son of Edward, nephew of James, brother of Emilia.

What a great read.

If you freeze frame the page from ‘Who Shot Willy Bupor’ you’ll find there were “five dead, at least four from gunshot wounds, and the bodies scattered miles from one another. No suspects, no arrests.”

The biggest problem with this season is how poorly it’s managed to make any of this more than just a curiosity.

“...I can’t figure out how Loy Cannon had access to that information.”

Scroll back up: he said he wasn’t in high school when it came out.
