You don’t need to be riding a million miles an hour to have your weight on the inside of the bike, so when something does go down mid turn you have the grip and contact patch to try not to crash.

Maybe don’t ride 2 mph in the middle of the road, up a hill, on a windy road full of blind curves with no bike lane, and a speed limit of 40 mph.
