@NaraVara: I wonder if texting in Asians is maybe held back because of a lack of Asian-language phones available for new immigrants.

I want maglev chopsticks that levitate the sushi to my mouth.

I guess we're gonna see how well web apps do against native apps. And not just against the iPad but also Android.

This didn't make sense to me either but this article clears things up. IANAL but I think Oracle's (Sun's) angle is: What you're using isn't Java and because it's not licensed or in anyway official Java, you're violating our patents on Java.

Laurels? Just when these are starting to hit the market, iOS 4 iPad Edition will be released. And a few months later we'll most likely see the updated iPad 2.

@timestep: I'm going with that. Basically: "I'm a scofflaw, I'm above the law."

Yeah but talk about vendor lock-in. You can't get content from anyone except one publisher?

Does no one remember we had these already?

An even better question is why is a frickin dongle required for this? These things always inevitably get lost.

@Gimmi Mørgäikkönën: SoHo in NYC probably has one of the highest iPhone densities in the city, if not the world.

@awuwish: That's probably because film has a higher dynamic range than digital. Which is why photographers started doing HDR (when used properly).

@bearproph: Yeah I'm always amazed to look at these:

Also if retouching is banned or requires disclaimers, one thing that will happen is models will get even skinnier, start younger and age out sooner.

All the industry needs to do to quiet the public is hire better retouchers!

Can you use this as a portable Wifi hotspot without actually having WiMax service?

@beehunt: Space! The biggest iPhone is still only 32GB. With apps, maybe a GPS app, movies and songs, I'm always running out of space.

And no private restroom? What is this, stowage?

@mrgibblechip: Everyone already has their phones out. It's not uncommon to see someone with multiple devices out at once.

How do you capture a full web page in Awesome Screenshot? All it says is Capture Visible Part.

I already find myself wishing I could do things "the iPad way" while on my MacBook Pro. A perfect melding of the two would be a million times more open than iOS though. Way too much lock in with the iOS platform as it is right now.
