I approve. Berserk is part of my animated pantheon, alongside Fist of the North Star . . . . which has a multiplatform release today. Why not review the latest 5 movies (Gaiden / Legend of series). I am waiting to watch berserk until all of the movies are released. I did the wait per episode thing when the original

I also find it funny how you think some one stating an opinion on an opinion post is hilarious. See what I did there kettle?

Its intentional. You hsvr to look at your move delay and how much tine you have to assault the monster from that angle before it moves or counter attacks. Its a game of attrition.

Agreed, Technically FFT series is numbered as well.

Sepheroth Much?

What a well thought out and written response. To you I can see the reasoning behind you favoring Squaresoft 1990 titles. I had a friend cry after we finished Secret of Mana. Earthbound also became tragic right before you confront Gigas. With that being said I probably lean closer to tragedies than anything else (PS4

How are these "my games"? I've beaten ff6 and chrono trigger as well and enjoyed parts of each. So technically those are "my games" as well. Overall I did find the likes of Phantasy Star 4, Shin Megami Tensei 2, and Earthbound (comedy mostly, and serious theme (towards the end)) more cohesive, challenging and engaging

My father says "Promises, Promises" is a proper retort.

Ever thought of expanding to gaming in general and not just the video variety? I think your readership might appreciate some board/pen and paper/card game coverage.

Them all? You have played all rpgs of that era? Or are you just referring to the two examples I've listed?

"Didn't know any better" most children (adults even) would not have known of either of those games existence during the times when they where released. Thus didn't know any better is past tense. I make no assumptions as to any ones intelligence. I also have a right to express my opinion in response to this opinion

4 is pretty popular still, getting a modern day remake. I think 5 is a gem however, despite X-Death being there for comic relief

So even a Donkey knows how to spot an overrated title? Hee Haw!

I guess we have to look at what was available at that time. SNES had a larger install base from my knowledge of the time period. Lets say if they had imported SMT 1 and 2 at that time maybe some peoples favorites would have changed. Example I loved Wizardy 5 on the SNES, though very few people played it.

Landstalker with its awkward isometric view point was the hotness. The thing that stood out the most was that long flight of stairs 0_0.

Excellent points on Chrono! when put into that context I can see its merits.

A protagonist is only as good as the obsticles they overcome. Without opposition and struggle what is a Hero? I must admit, I feel that Chronotrigger / Dragonquest series gets a huge help in popularity / fandom from Akira Toriyama (of Dragon Ball fame). Thats part of what throws me off (I see Magus and instantly think

"Because you didnt know any better" was my instant response to that title. There are far better RPGs during that era (Phantasy Star 4, Earthbound for example). Not sure why every one leans on the Chrono / FF6 Crutch. An Evil Porcupine and a mad clown @_@ ok.

Kotaku refuge, ignore this ones reference.

Agreed. Nocturne and SMT 2 where prime examples.
