Absolutely.

Sez you. I always eat my children when they’ve been stewed in a crock pot for seven hours in a mix of vegetable broth and beef bouillon. Falls right off the bone.

“You mean white people right?”

Woof, Morton’s.

Sorry for the late reply!

Yes, I have.

In certain cases it will. But anyone who has ever managed in service occupations, and let’s face it, we have a service economy, will tell you that increasing labor wages directly results in decreased hours. It’s a tale as old as time.

There are many things to get outraged over, and this is the shit people pick?

I totally get it, and I’m not really pressed about it. There are valid reasons people feel the way they do, and that’s fine! Every publication needs a vision, and ultimately we’re the ones that can choose whether or not to engage.

So much of comedy is the messenger, and I guess Tina Fey has crossed over into “problematic fave” category. If people come armed expecting her to say something to confirm their bias, then she’ll say something. In this case, “the majority” refers to a handful of commenters on one site that hold Fey up as the poster

The fact that this woman was an heiress speaks volumes. She probably had tea at the St. Paul Hotel quite frequently.

You know how many people are incapable of empathy or action until it affects them? There’s a reason “first they came for...” is quoted so often.

Isn’t this pretty much satire? I mean REAL satire, not the outrage as satire that certain...ahem... bloggers engage in on the regular. I mean “treat it like the opening weekend of a  movie with two thoughtful female leads” pretty much sealed it.

I mean, I’m not surprised. It’s just that this takes callousness to a whole new level. Even if the events had nothing to do with angry, neo-Nazis rioting partially in the name of Trump (as David Duke so kindly reminded us), you don’t essentially blow up the phone of a woman on THE DAY OF HER CHILD’S FUNERAL. Because

Exactly. I’ve been in various degrees of management in the industry for 14 years, and it’s not the first time this has happened. At the last restaurant I managed, corporate just jacked up the prices across the board by 50 cents, and barely anyone noticed. The Oceanaire isn’t exactly Dennys.

It’s an Oceanaire. The tipped employees already make $25 an hour, if not more. This is a restaurant that has a single person check average of over 80 bucks, and the bar staff can take home $300 on a Monday night. They’re not poor. Hell, I once pulled over $2000 in a week— after taxes.—(BOH staff are a different

The Oceanaire is hideously overpriced to begin with, so I find it rich that anyone would complain about a 3% surcharge to their $35 half dozen littlenecks in the first place.

Hehehheh I remember this one. My entire family was like “WTF?”

I’ve usually been the Elaine of my social circle, and I’ve definitely heard questionable things (especially since one of the men was my boss and he frequently made throwaway comments about other women on the team). However, none of it was even remotely close to advocating sexual assault.

Give the woman points, though. Normally they just make an inflammatory comment and run away. This is dedication. It has the “I’m just saying” comment, the reddit “so you’re going to downvote people with different opinions” comment, the “I’m assuming comment”, and at some point I’m sure the “I don’t like DT BUT”
