Yeah, I’m always hearing “lol harmless Mormons, they wear special underwear and don’t drink pop” and I’m just like... they think my skin is dark as a punishment due to sin, people who look like me are only in the church due to pressure from outside forces, and the idea that black men should be banned from receiving

No, I’m not interested in joining your LARP group.

For a guy who makes millions per year and tithes a big percent of that to the Mormon church, maybe a catty article in Wired is the least he deserves.

“that are all connected”

I suspect there’s the underlying and unspoken issue of Sanderson’s very public Mormon faith. I could see a journalist who just doesn’t like fundamentalist Christianity struggling to understand why people are attracted to a guy who tries to embody the most bland and personable aspect of it in his public facing persona.

Calling Sanderson’s work the MCU of fantasy books is wildly overgenerous, yet does have some truth in it.

The Rick and Morty fandom didn’t bully artists off Twitter with death threats for not making character ‘fat enough’ in art.

I was in the Steven Universe fandom and at its worse it was shockingly vile. I watched people argue for anti-miscegenation, claiming that humans and gems (especially Rose and Greg) could never eth

Maybe because Mormonism IS essentially science fiction / fantasy?

I’ve long felt the most notable thing about Sanderson is his fanbase’s rabidity.

But they’re not doing anticompetitive things in Japan. The Xbox hasn’t failed in Japan due to shenanigans, it has failed because the Japanese market isn’t interested in it. It’s very weird to ask for an open and free market and make these allegations when...the open and free market has been saying for 20 years that

She’s a Senator from Washington state strongly taking the side of a company that employes over 50,000 people in Washington. Isn’t that how elected representation is supposed to work?

Why are you talking to yourself?

The LEGAL presumption is innocence. He got the benefit of that presumption with the domestic violence allegation, and now he’s a free man. Doesn’t mean people who aren’t a judge or an empanelled member of his jury can’t look at his other skeevy behavior and draw their own conclusions.

The presumption is “not guilty” as far as the legal system is concerned. Employers can draw any conclusion they want.

I can’t tell if this is a bad joke or really good execution of a joke I don’t particularly care about, but yeah... #TeamNepoBaby. That one Phoenix album was FIRE and I thought the slightness of Lost in Translation was outweighed by how visually compelling I found it.

As much as I’d love you to be right, they just don’t care. They literally don’t care about any narrative because they just lie about it. All they care about is punishing brown/black people and women and keeping them down.

I admire your willingness to believe it will be a problem for him, but anyone even remotely predisposed to voting for him won’t even remotely give a shit.

It’s a 7 year old game. I’m surprised that you even made it this far without getting spoiled.

And I’m actually still on my very first playthrough and have read that reveal years ago.
