@Grim Reaper of the Forest: Personally, I don't consider spending a month hooked up to machines that run parents upwards of $35k per week "viability". It's a painful experience to have a premature child, and if you want that child, then it's a miracle that the child survived.

@femme-bot: Agreed. While her behavior in this matter wasn't probably the ideal way of dealing with this, there is no excuse for an adoption agency-a business-to not fully disclose all the information they have.

A fetus is unable to discern and respond to stimuli until around 24-25 weeks, and even then, it is unable to categorize or retain any form of semantic or episodic memories.

Okay, I am getting sick of the "Tina Fey Feminism" "Liz Lemonism" stint.

I wouldn't make an assumption of her "interest" in the affair based upon work emails, which, depending on whether or not there's an involved IT department, could be monitored by IT anyway.

@bluebears: Correction: Some people are juss dunces.

Well, you know what Reverend Lovejoy has to say about THAT:

BUT DOES SHE EAT BABIES? IS SHE A NAZISOCIALISTCOMMUNISTFASCISTT... SYMPATHIZER? FOR GOD'S SAKES GLENN, DOES SHE ADVOCATE FOR THE PROLETARIAT WHILST CARRYING THE BANNER OF "SOCIAL JUSTICE"?

Gorgons are misunderstood. This Medusa, however, I think is deserving of that "tiny word."

Trinny and Suzannah's What Not to Wear is a godsend. Sure it focuses on "problem areas", but they do it with a certain lightheartedness.

Who am I kidding they are ugly as hell to.

@loudlyquiet: Amen. Remember the endless Edwards/ Tiger mistress threads? I've never seen so much hatred on this site. It was very disconcerting and very disheartening. People's decisions can be good or bad, but labelling the individuals as "trashy" or "skanks" is as you said, not ok.

This just goes to show just how far behind in well, everything these educators, their kids, and the parents are. Honestly? You think you're going to hold a fake prom and not have pictures of the real one plastered over the Internet, or not have Twitter feeds and Facebook statuses to expose you? Backwards as all hell.

The internet doesn't only offer a new avenue, it offers an incessant one. That's the problem. When we were bullied at school, oftentimes heading home was a comfort. Text messages, emails, Facebook updates, and mocking websites know no boundaries. And in some form or another, they exist forever.

@BAngieB: I'd have to agree with you here. I don't think that corporal punishment should be allowed in schools, and I'd have to agree with some of the other commenters that there is a disturbing element to it.

@SomeAuthorGirl: True. However, what's happening is those girls are now being marketed to as future fashion plates. The alternative to playing with dolls is still reading Seventeen for the latest boy quiz. It's still getting that nice tan that complements those new shoes.

I would think there is something to be said about rushing into "tween-ness." My colleagues all have children between the ages of 7-11, and almost all of them spend their free time on their cell phones, texting and belting out Ke$ha lyrics. They have boyfriends, and you better believe that you need to wear those $98

@NefariousNewt: The method of expelling yeast from champagne (reumage) to retain oxidity without wasting wine was invented by a woman: Barbe-Nicole Posardin, otherwise known as The Widow Cliquot.

@Kivrin: Agreed. Suicide is not the norm in these cases-not by a stretch. A friend of mine killed herself after finding out her boyfriend cheated. Is he a murderer? Did he drive her to kill herself, or was this the one event that happened to make her "snap"? Did she have an undiagnosed mental illness? No one knows,
