But in all seriousness: this is a travesty. BLM protesters would not be given even a quarter of the leeway these motherfuckers have been.

And here I thought Conservatives were against participation trophies.

I love Britney. This would be so jarring and frightening. She’s got some great dancers.

I must have missed where I did that! Can you point me in that direction? Much appreciated.

I can’t tell if you’re willfully misunderstanding what I’ve written or if you can’t tell the difference between ice cream and bigotry? Like, on both counts, you’ve failed?

Love, you seem real angry. I am sending you one of my medals! :D

Love, you wrote multiple separate posts across the course of forty minutes. I responded to one of them. Now I get another medal!

I didn’t watch Letterman consistently but I always appreciated that how quickly he thought on his feet. I’m interested to see who the subjects will be. I trust the Letterman half of the equation, but a lot of the show will depend on who he talks to and if they’re interesting enough to fill an hour of time.

Oh, honey. I have been given a medal! Now that I’ve baited you into a forty minute tirade, I’ll probably get another.

Sigh. Oh, Pancho. Bigotry isn’t as subjective as you’d like it to be. :doubleyawns:

Actually, the study was about the “association between job strain and risk of incident stroke.” I can’t read it in full because one needs a subscription to Neurology, the journal that published the study. And, while they did find that the risk of stroke was higher for women, that’s the case across the board — women in

Hi, Friend! Thanks for the compliments! :D

I can see where you’re coming from, but it shouldn’t always be the responsibility for the targets of racism/sexism/isms in general to change the hearts of those with prejudices. I do try to reply to people with sexist or misogynistic opinions with facts and more reasoned arguments; but it can be incredibly exhausting.

Thank you for this laugh! :-D

People have tried to use so-called data to back up their prejudices. For example, I’m sure people use the disproportionally high rate at which Black men are incarcerated in the United States to prove they’re more prone to violence. I see the rate — out of proportion with the national population of black men — as being

If you based your treatment of a race of people off of knowing a few “not so kind” people, I would shame the shit out of you. Grow up.

Well, yeah. If an Evangelical person states a scientific fact, like the earth revolves around the sun, then I wouldn’t reject that because it came from an Evangelical. I’m not sure what scientific facts have to do with this conversation, but because I might not have been clear enough, please allow me to elaborate: I

Yeah, I still don’t buy what you’re selling. By your reasoning, one should listen neo Nazis, Klansmen, and Evangelicals of the Fred Phelps ilk with an open mind.

Can you provide positive reasons for hearing out people with prejudices? And can you provide examples of prejudices that people should be open to hearing out?

Okay, I’d like to understand where you’re coming from. And I also want to make it clear: I am not advocating violence against people who make prejudiced statements. I’m not saying they should be stripped of their rights or run out of society. I do believe their prejudices should be challenged and met with scorn.
