Have you watched Dance Academy? I am not saying they seemed to have ripped off Center Stage, let’s just be kind and say they were definitely inspired by it.  The first 2 seasons are great, then goes downhill and I haven’t been able to sit through the movie they made.

It’s more like a egg cream with ice cream.  It’s milk, in seltzer and the syrup is added - then you do the ice cream.  Traditional is vanilla and chocolate. 

We have had a really hard time finding places that even know how to make an ice cream soda. Carvel will make them, but Friendly’s took it off their menu. Sometimes a diner will know how make one (and will also have egg creams). But unless you have a good old fashioned ice cream shop I feel like it is very hard.  

I found a new solution for me- when covid began my mom bought us tons of gloves - the ones from sysco used for food prep normally. I never used them for their mom-intended purpose of preventing covid, but now I have a million for any time I am chopping onions or garlic (which I put in pretty much everything I make).…

Me too! I was telling my parents about it this weekend - it was the only show I wanted to try.  We watch a lot of Murder, She Wrote reruns :) 

And wigs - I never realized how many wigs were involved in things and I know this is trash tv but what opened my eyes to extensions was Big Brother.  All these women would come in with amazing hair and since it is 24/7 and they can’t get their hair redone for 90 days you really see how much of the hair is fake.  

The bagels near me are meh (but better than Thomas’s or lenders), in fact the good appetizing/fish place has the worst bagels so usually we get the fish and the bagels from separate places. 

I loved the Eli Wallach part of that movie :) 

Reality of that situation with my friends - you go to their house and are toasting the thomas’s bagels, served with philly cream cheese and thawed smoked salmon. You smile and eat some because you aren’t the type of person who complains, but it’s like taking your Australian friend to Outback.

Yes - I agree. the High Holiday so much more important - I always say Rosh Hashana/ Yom Kippur = Easter (more solemn), Passover = Christmas (more celebratory, but still dark because that is how we roll on holidays, but also supposedly the most celebrated Jewish holiday)

Even in the cities — I live in Queens, we went 81% to Biden, Bronx was a slightly higher...then check out Staten Island 61% to Trump.  Brooklyn was still Biden, but not as high margins because the southern part of the county is closer to Staten Island in spirit than Queens.
