Bananarama also sang Venus, which was a massive hit (and is still the theme song of the Venus razor commercials)

Edie Brickell 'What I am'
Hahaha clearly the guy can only do cover songs. I still don't know how he thought he could get away with ripping off Bowie and Mercury.
Yes yes yes that song is def top ten one hit wonders. My kids look at me like I'm crazy when I try to sing the falsetto for 'just listen to the rhythm of my heart!'
(I always feel like) Somebody's Watching Me! The only one hit wonder that has Michael Jackson singing backup as a business favor.
I can't believe we all forgot Vanilla Ice! The hilarious part about it is im from the area he was singing about (South Florida), and he got so many details wrong that we were really confused as to whether he was actually talking about Miami Beach (literally not one person calls Ocean Dive 'Beachfront Avenue') or some…
Oh man, I loved that song
Der Kommissar!! (After the Fire) and Wild Wild West (Escape Club)
Ooooeeeeooo Sendme an angel ooooeeeooo
Well, I know Midnight Oil was a thing in Oz, but we Americans only know 'Beds are Burning', which is a great alt-punk anthem.
Ha. I feel you. There really was something so gd cynical about growing up in the 90's. But YOOO, the 90's still had 'Baby Got Back' and you can't get more one-hit wonder or campy than that.
I just remember being a senior in high school and Laid being played nonstop for a full year.
I don't think so. Rush had a few hits over here.
By far, the best one hit wonder usage was The New Girl's Nick Miller fist-pumping and rocking out unironically to Cotton Eye Joe in his car, with Jess being forced to sit next to him through it: 'Do I really need to be here for this, Nick?'
I know James had a few over there (not in the USA though), but I thought the Verve disappeared pretty quickly over there bc the lead singer went solo?
She's got it goin' on!
Yes! One of my favorites. It's also the theme song for Deutschland '83, which is a great show, too. Fits perfectly! They also play '99 Luft Balloons'. It's a Cold War spy show that takes place in Germany in 1983.
'Bittersweet Symphony' by The Verve and 'Laid' by James for the 90's. 'When in Rome' by The Promise and 'Voices Carry' by 'Til Tuesday for the 80's. 'Little Green Bag' by George Baker Selection and 'Spirit in the Sky' by Norman Greenbaum for the 1970's. 'Whiter Shade of Pale' by Procol Harum 1960's.
It legit looked like one of those videos from the late 70's! They were climbing all over rebar at a junkyard, and I swear they barely changed a thing from the original! Tetanus!
First Scott dies and now Chris. My childhood is disappearing. It's so sad to make it through the grunge/heroin era of the 90's only to take your own life 20 years later. He must have been suffering for such a long time. It's truly unbelievable how many of those guys are gone now.
