Mostly bigger cities. May have started in California. I’ve seen some in Minneapolis, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Denver, Boston, Charleston, Manhattan.
I interviewed with a company that insisted on open office. I asked for noise-cancelling headphones. They declined, and it was the worst six months of my working life. Then one day a new hire with .... ‘personality’ came in and ten of us went to management and demanded headphones. Finally granted.
There are actually a growing number of companies that have BYOP. I interviewed with a few some years back for a different job (in a different city) and was pleasantly surprised.
Someone I know wrote a book and gave himself a five-star review. Does that count as some kind of fake review?
I’m planning a move to a different time zone in a few years and have started a back-of-envelope wish list of benefits that I’d be willing to take less pay for and what I *must* have. It’s theoretical at best and for now that’s just fine.

Woo LASIK! Totally worth it. Had it done last year.
Baugh. In summer I work on my yearlong pale and video game backlog indoors. I prefer that to throngs of people.
Tried. Injured. Prefer shower.
This. The daily shower is the only thing that keeps my fine thin oily hair in check.
Thanks for the article. Saving for later. I’m planning to move from the Midwest to the West Coast by 2020 and at the moment the plan is to ship through U-Haul pods and drive out with the Mr. and the corgi.
Or make my emails reporting problems look super important and fake reassurance that everything’s going to be okay? : )
