My apartment’s bathtub is too small for me to properly soak in and so I make inhuman noises when I find a decent soaking tub. If this was big enough, I’d give moneys.

Because I am confined to my cube, I have the next best thing: Chike protein coffee mix. If I am really dragging (usually Fridays at 2), I get some skim milk and shake it up with 1 or 2 scoops of this stuff and I’m good.
Heck, technically my coffeemaker is a unitasker but if I use it everyday (like I would one of these bad boys if I ever get one, and boy I’m awfully tempted), it belongs on my countertop.
My per diem isn’t what it used to be, so sometimes a few of these things are necessary (I really like someone’s tip about the plastic bag around the TV remote). Also, ugh, I’ve had bedbugs before, and now that’s the first thing I check for before I spend another $5K on getting rid of those things.
I did the exact opposite and put Hulu on hold for several weeks while my shows went on break. Love being able to hold things. Oddly enough I didn’t know this existed for Netflix. TIL.
This is my favorite Nick Cage movie.
Yeah, probably. It shows resourcefulness and the right kind of lazy — I purposely give them a time-consuming task to see how they find a better way to do it. Two of them did great, and I got both of them promoted at some point. Two others, well, one got released and the other one is still grumbling about never getting…
No thank you. 175 mg of caffeine per scoop and I lift at night. Nope nope nope.

One of my criteria for ‘good assistants’ (that I will cage-fight to keep, and mentor and coax towards promotion) is V- and H-LOOKUP. If they know this coming in, I love them to death and buy them treats. If they’re a quick study and learn this quickly, I also love them to death and buy them treats. If they can’t…
Mr. Vic and I allowed ourselves the span of a dinner at Moe’s (coupon!) to daydream about this last week. A lot of it was like what a lot of people say: pay off debts, help out family (my mom has a bunch of medical expenses). Travel, new cars (I’ve always bought used, and mostly base model. I want heated seats).
I had to complete more itty bitty projects as a coordinator than my male counterparts before I was considered ready for the big leagues, and I hate that I had to create a reputation of being a funny but hardass PM in order to be deemed competent. I had to crash my schedules multiple times (and man, my devs and testers…
John Scalzi wrote about being poor, and hundreds of others added their own experiences. I find myself rereading it pretty often, because I was almost at that point once, and I have family that still is, and it’s sobering AF.
I would read the hell out of this.
Have you tried your local police department? For me (also in Illinois, but in the center), there’s one day where the city hosts a hazardous waste disposal event, but the local PDs also advertised that they’ll take things.
I just upgraded from a well-loved 5 and I ... really like it. Photos and videos of my corgi come out nicer and it’s nice to listen to audio that doesn’t cut out after 20 seconds like my 5 was doing.
I bought into the subscription when they offered 3 months free some weekend ago, because I had so much trouble sleeping and this has really done the trick.
Oh my god. Can this be included in the Best Of?
I liked CL well enough, it was a great class, but just the sheer amount of research and reading was daunting. I am however very grateful that I realized it was not for me before LSAT prep came around.
Tax attorneys have my respect. I was pre-law until I took con law in undergrad and noped right out of it, then saw all my classmates toil away in torts and taxes.
“huge advantage to employers" Oh my god, this. I've got a meeting with my management soon when I found out an entry-level associate with my exact job is getting 40% more and my promotions were declined.
