Yes, I’m whining. Big deal. I had another ISP for a while when I lived at a different address. I had to move because the roof leaked into the electric. My new address can’t get my old ISP, just Comcast. When I started with them, I had three fees/charges in addition to my services and it was under $80 a month. Then six

Dammit, Crumcast. They're the only ISP in town that offers higher than 12 Mbps and until that changes I can't quit them.

I hate them with a burning passion but dammit they're the only place in my town with more than 6 Mbps.

Hannibal still canceled with no home in sight.

I wonder if you’ll be limited to the channels you currently subscribe to. I just downgraded my Crumcast subscription because the bill was getting ridiculous and I got HBO Now instead. But if this $15 a month gives me access to BBC America shows without actually having to pay for the regular monthly subscription ....

Yessss. John Scalzi, yesssss.

Because that's where I am right now. The dress code and park description were just so uncanny.

I cannot believe how familiar your story sounds. Are you in central Illinois?

I get offered a choice of golf towels and golf tees every year. They look like they've been made in the bottom-ranked factory of Elbonia.

My corgi is almost instantly asleep in the car. Unless you're near the Magical Whipped Cream Place (Starbucks).

Keep an egg timer or something similar nearby. You may find yourself spending over 5 minutes discussing action plans/decisions, overanalyzing things make a long game less fun.

Battlestar Galactica was a popular choice for my local gaming friends for years. We found out who were scary-good liars. Thankfully, one of the few instances Mr. Vic lies to me is when he's the Cylon.

Good point. Kind of depends on the mover, though? I packed a lot of the media in medium-sized boxes and they just stacked them five to a dolly and wheeled them out. They were $75 an hour or so and they were done in 4 hours (I had a lot less crap back then, though, but still, two geeks' worth of media)

DIY moving was fine for across town moves when it was just my stuff in a studio apartment. Ten years later with a spouse, a few pieces of non-IKEA furniture and a corgi? Nuh-uh. Nope. I hired professional movers and a truck for a cross-town for $300 total and I almost sobbed in relief.

I actually lucked out here. My first car was a POS and kept needing work, and then after I did some research I knew what I wanted, looked for one in a 200-mile radius and found one that happened to be a former rental car. Except for one cupholder piece missing it has been an absolute champ with no problems whatsoever

You know, I started in yoga and cardio and now I've gone to weightlifting, and I was wondering about going back to my old love. You've nudged me in the way back, thank you.

Some years ago I got this recipe from a local farmer and life has never been the same. It’s one of the first things I do at the beginning of summer and it’s also the first thing to disappear when we have people over.

I'm excited for part of my trip that includes a hotel room with a fridge. Just need to find a microwave somewhere (I've bribed some smaller hotels' staff for quick use of their staff room jukebox before) and I'll be so happy. For four days, though, posh hotels in big cities. Soon as I get there I'm grabbing some

Thanks for this. I have a week of travel coming soon and this will come in handy.
