Yeah. That part struck me as particularly bullshit too. When has Romo ever bragged about what he’s doing or acted like he’s performing some kind of magic trick? He’s just out there doing his job competently and humbly. If people overpraise him for it because every other commentator is awful, that’s not his fault.

Again, it is Tony’s job to point out this Football 101 type of stuff, but the glee with which he sells it as a novelty

Yes.  Is Troy Aikman too busy finding somebody other than the QB to blame for that interception to be able to do this?

I think the majority of the viewing public understands that, among peers, Romo is a guy who played in the NFL and watched a bazillion hours of tape. Among the people who watch the games, it’s a pleasant change of pace to have somebody explain what will happen and why the quarterback will make a specific decision. I

Nate this is way too many words. We got your point very early on. Which makes me believe you don’t understand what truly excites people about Romo’s commentary – he is concise and easy to absorb.

Nate Jackson played six years in the NFL

Mostly it’s because so much football commentary is absolute garbage, and it’s refreshing to hear a human being effectively explaining complex shit in a simple way. We just suffered through a terrible MNF booth that seemed more interested in bringing “debate” into the broadcast over, ya know...just telling us what the

I’m not so much in awe of how he can do the things he can do in the booth, such as predict plays.  I understand that the guy was an NFL QB very recently and a pretty darn good one at that.  I’m more amazed at how shitty every other color commentator is in comparison and I’m pissed I didn’t get to listen to a Tony

A New Challenger Approaches!

“I hate so much about the things that you choose to be.”

Hmm. Caught between two Michael Scott quotes to respond to this article. Do I go with “You are a thief of joy”? Or “Why are you the way that you are?” Both apply equally IMO.

Radio play-by-play guys are the best and always will be, TV broadcast will always be second to that. Tony is a good TV guy and Chris Collinsworth is the worst. Somewhere in between them fall the others.

Dude. He was great. Bernie Kosar did preseason for the Browns for a while and could do the same thing.

Almost as egregious as the phantom PI call on JC Jackson that extended the game.

Getting to the Super Bowl is incredibly difficult to do and takes such an unbelievable commitment from a team and support from its fans.

Of course, if Payton just runs the ball 3 times in that series, they get the FG and the Rams get the ball down by 3 with about 25 seconds left and no timeouts.  But noooooooo...........

Best Tony prediction of the night had to have been “If Andy Reid is smart, he’ll call the timeout here”

Because penis.

I think the biggest difference is there was a reservation here.

What a dumb take.
